Guest guest
Om Krishnaaya Namah Hi everybody, With discussion going on about parallax and Mrtyu Bhaga, I thought the chart of Marilyn Monroe would be interesting to look at: Based on the data of -------------------- 01/06/1926, at 09:30:00 PST Vedic Astrology Weekday (Sunrise to Sunrise): Tuesday Calendar Weekday: Tuesday Lahiri: 22:49:28 Los Angeles CA USA 118 W 14 34 N 3 Standard Time Hours from Greenwich: 8.00 Planet Ret Sign (Rasi) Degrees Nakshatras -------------------- Ascendant Cancer 20° 15' Ashlesha Sun Taurus 17° 37' Rohini Moon Capricorn 25° 20' Dhanistha Mars Aquarius 27° 54' Purvabhadrapa Mercury Taurus 13° 57' Rohini Jupiter Aquarius 4° 0' Dhanistha Venus Aries 5° 55' Ashwini Saturn R Libra 28° 37' Visakha Rahu Gemini 25° 26' Punarvasu Ketu Sagittarius 25° 26' Purvashadha North Indian Style Rasi Chart for Marilyn Monroe ******************************************************* ** * * ** * * * * * * * * * * RAH * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * LEO* LAG * GEM* * * VIR** **TAU SUN * * * * * * MER * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * CAN * * * * * * * * * * LIB * ARI * * * * * * * * * * CAP * VEN * * * * SAT * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * MOO * * * * SCO** **PIS * * * SAG* * AQU* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * KET * * JUP * * * * * * MAR * * ** * * ** ******************************************************* If we apply parallax correction as above, then her Lagna Lord Moon, happens to fall in Mrtyu Bhaga, in the Maraka seventh. If however we use the geocentric positions, it stays outside MB. Taking Robert's statement "I have found MB planets strong in the charts of persons dying due to unnatural or unusual causes", one might not find it surprising to find the Lagna Lord in MB in the chart of one who died at 36 under weird circumstances. Not only this, but in the Navamsha, the Moon is in the eighth. One might not then consider it so strange to have Jupiter Moon as the Dasa-antardasa of death instead of Jupiter Mars. We also see Saturn's transit over this MB Moon. While it wasn't in exact (it wasn't exact in the well known case of JFK Jr. either) conjunction with the Moon, on the day of death Shani Deva was in fact transitting right through his own Mrtyu Bhaga spot in Capricorn. Weird or Weird?! Blaspheming the traditionally well accepted Jupiter Mars ideas, I know. But it was just something I thought which might be interesting. The MB degrees are finishing poins, NOT starting. So 25 deg and 14 deg mean between 24 and 25; between 13 and 14. Lahiri shows 26 and 15 for the above cases. Fagan shows almost exactly 24:30 and 13:30 (parallaxed moon)! For JFK also the fagan moon is closer to MB in natal chart, but there are no outstanding MB contacts for 22 november1963 -maybe some deeper contact. regards Mani

I've never heard that before. As far as I know (I haven't yet got JP, although I ordered it last week), the MB points are certain exact spots in the zodiac, similar to the concept of fixed stars. What is debatable is the orb allowed for conjunctions to these points, not which side of the point it is on. From his research, Dr. Charak says that as long as the planet is within the orb on either side of the MB point, it may be taken as being in MB. If there are however other opinions on the matter, either classical or the result of contemporary research, I'd love to hear them. Thanks, Pursottam

I based my idea on Jain´s book on the degrees of the zodiac, as well as Alan Leo´s: both speak of the 1st....30th degree to give the qualities. I took it that MB was similar. If the exact degree is meant, I stand - or sit - corrected! But please do answer my other letter! regards Mani
