HAIL TO THE CHIEF: THE PRESIDENCY OF GEORGE W. BUSH,

PART 1

Saturday, January 13, 2001

With only a week before the official swearing-in of

the Nation's 43rd President, opinions, conjecture and

speculation is running high among the American

Populace. News organizations, now Internet and cable

television-assisted, blare Bush Transition Team

updates around the clock; reportage of political

fights over Bush's picks for his Cabinet goes on

unabated, and it's only the beginning - in a few days,

Bush's nominee for Attorney General, former Senator

John Ashcroft, will undergo the Senate Confirmation

process. As if this weren't enough, Bush prepares to

take the Nation's Highest Honor at a time of both

unparalleled political division, and certain economic

downturns. All of this promises to be perhaps the most

interesting, if not dramatic, Presidency of Modern

Times.

This article, and the ones that follow, will try to

explain, in Astrological terms, what we can expect to

see during George W. Bush's 1st term in Office. In a

projected 8-part series, I will go into detail, all of

the major issues that Bush will have to contend with -

the Economy, Education, Foreign Affairs, Racial

Issues, Abortion, and more; and I will bring both

Western and Vedic Astrological analysis to bear on the

subject. In this, Part One, I will take up Bush's

chart in particular, and focus on other horoscopes as

well, relating to the Presidency itself. I will also

lay out why I said, in earlier pieces, that Gore's

Vedic chart did not have the combinations in it to

support him being President, and why Bush's Vedic

chart does. Finally, I will take a close look at the

Astrology of the Bush Inauguration, and the impact it

can have on the Nation, and the world, as a whole.

THE PRESIDENTIAL PROFILE

It has long been recognized that the ties between a

Leader and his/her Country are very important; over

the past century, we have seen this again and again,

in the cases of former Chancellors of Germany, Helmut

Kohl and Adolf Hitler, and in the case of Winston

Churchill of England to name a few. Here in the United

States, the same applies, and is shown again and

again, in the natal horoscopes of the Presidents. Many

people have run for Presidential office, some

priviledged, others not-so priviledged, like Bill

Clinton and Abraham Lincoln; some have made it to the

Presidency while others have not, regardless of their

social standing. It is easy, in light of our newest

President, to lay his success at the feet of his

father, former President, Geo. H. W. Bush. However, we

have to keep in mind, that JFK's son, JFK "John-John"

Jr. had no political interests whatsoever; and H. Ross

Perot, the Independent Presidential Candidate of 1992

and multi-millionaire, spent millions of his own

money, in a failed attempt to win the White House. It

is important to have some things come one's way when

seeking the Highest Office in the Land - a good family

pedigree, a near-flawless record of Public Service (or

at least a distinguished record of private-sector

service), and a good public image - but these are not

guarantors of winning a Presidential Election. The

role that Astrology plays in such affairs is truly

astounding, which leads me into what I call the

Presidential Profile.

The Presidential Profile is based on the close

synastric ties between the Presidents of Times Past,

and the horoscope for the United States. At this

point, I want to make a case for the chart that I use

in this article's references: although there are many

proposed charts for the USA, and many of them are

valid from at least a symbolic perspective, the one

chart that comes shining through in test after test of

National History and Character, is the chart set for

the Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776, at

2:13AM, LMT, in Philadelphia, PA, USA. This chart

places the Sun in Cancer, with the Moon in Aquarius

and the Ascendant at 7 Gemini (Please see Noel Tyl's

Predictions for a New Millennium for more on all of

this). In comparing the charts of Presidents Reagan,

F. D. Roosevelt, JFK, Geo. Bush, Sr., and Clinton, the

Profile comes through very, very clearly. The Profile

involves ties with the USA Asc-Dsc axis, the

Mercury-Pluto axis (in Cancer-Capricorn), the MC-IC

axis (in Aquarius-Leo), and an emphasis on the Cancer

cluster in the 2nd house of the USA chart. I have

chosen these Presidents because of their easy

name-recognition and, the Prominence they achieved

during their time in Office.

Ronald Reagan was elected for two terms as President;

his chief achievements were ending the Cold War,

strengthening the Military, and loosening federal

regulations concerning Big Business. His chart has

very close ties to that of the United States: his Sun

conjuncts the USA Moon and MC; his Asc opposes the USA

Mars (which played a role in the assassination attempt

on his life, among other things), while his Pluto

widely conjuncts the USA Mars; his Uranus conjuncts

the USA Pluto, and, along with his Mercury, opposes

the USA Mercury (being dubbed, "The Great

Communicator"); his Mars opposes the USA Venus and

Jupiter, and more.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt is the only man to have been

elected President 4 times consecutively, and after his

death, Congress moved to restrict the number of terms

a person can serve as President. Known for his

"Fireside Chats", FDR guided the Nation through

perhaps the most difficult time in its history, the

Great Depression, and lead the nation through World

War II. A new monument in his honor, showing him in

his wheelchair, has just been opened in Washington,

D.C. Again, the ties between his chart and that of the

USA are considerable: FDR's Sun conjoins the USA MC

and Moon; his Moon is in the same Sign as the USA Sun

and conjuncts the USA Venus-Jupiter; his MC conjuncts

the USA Asc and Uranus, while his Nodal Axis closely

aligns with his Asc-Dsc axis (great Public Appeal),

and lastly, his Mars is in the same Sign as the USA

Mars.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy narrowly won the Election of

1960 against Richard M. Nixon, and during his term in

Office, he stepped up the Space Program, introduced

early Civil Rights Legislation and successfully

handled the Cuban Missle Crisis, which has just been

dramatized on Film recently. Kennedy was assassinated

in Dallas, Texas, in Nov 1963, and his assassin was

Lee Harvey Oswald. Again, Kennedy's chart, when

compared to that of the USA, gives testimony to the

Presidential Profile: his Sun exactly conjoins the USA

Asc and Uranus (immense popularity among the People,

as well as highlighting the Space Program), his Venus

is conjunct the USA Mars (again, great popularity),

his Pluto is conjunct the USA Venus and Jupiter

(again, this cluster proves itself important), and his

MC and Saturn conjuncts the USA Mercury and opposes

the USA Pluto (focus on Foreign Affairs, in this case,

the Cuban Missle Crisis).

George Herbert Walker Bush, Vice-President to Ronald

Reagan, ran for the Presidency in his own right in

1988, and won against Michael Dukakis, then the

Governor of Massachusetts. Much was made about the

tactics his team used in defeating Dukakis,

particularly concerning the case of Willie Horton, a

Black felon who was released early and went on to

re-offend; Bush used the incident to his advantage,

amidst allegations of Racial Bias. Bush went on to

lead the country through Desert Storm, and, shortly

before leaving Office, led the nation into a

clan-conflict in Somalia, East Africa. As can be

expected by now, Bush's chart shows the Presidential

Profile. His Sun conjuncts the USA Mars (illuminating

the use of military power), his MC conjuncts the USA

Asc and Uranus; his Venus and Pluto conjuncts the USA

Sun (protecting USA resources); his

Neptune opposes the USA Moon and MC (which is exact;

this is a clear symbolism of confusion, and Oil, the

real reason why the War in the Gulf was fought), and

more.

Bill Clinton was elected twice with less than 50% of

the Popular Vote, yet he leaves his second term in

Office with the highest approval rating ever in Modern

History. He oversaw the greatest Economic expansion in

History, deployed peace-keeping troops in Bosnia, and

worked to broker Peace Agreements in Ireland and the

Middle East. His second term in Office was brought

under intense scrutiny as a result of the Monica

Lewinsky Scandal, brought about by an affair he had

with the former White House intern. Clinton was

Impeached by the US House of Representatives under

"High Crimes and Misdemeanors", the only President in

the 20th Century, and the 2nd President in the history

of the Union to be charged with such a dishonor.

Clinton's chart, while not as clear-cut as the other

examples, still highlights the Presidential Profile -

his Uranus and Nodal Axis conjoins the USA Mars

(strong popular appeal and use of military force); his

Pluto opposes the USA Moon (strong opposition from the

Party out of Power, the Republicans); his Jupiter

squares the USA Mercury-Pluto axis (selling the Big

Picture to the American People); his Venus squares the

USA Sun (tremendous popularity) and his Asc, Mars, and

Neptune squares the USA Venus and Jupiter (there it is

again, highlighting the American Economy) and finally,

his MC conjoins the USA Venus and Jupiter.

George W. Bush's chart, in relation to that of the

USA, also contains the Presidential Profile. But it is

very interesting to compare both his chart and Al

Gore's as well; this was one of the reasons why I said

in earlier articles last month why Bush would win out

over Gore, and that Gore could not possibly win. Let's

look at Gore's chart first.

It is easy to see why the Presidential Race was so

close - Gore's chart has several very strong ties to

that of the USA. His Uranus conjuncts the USA Mars,

his MC squares the USA Mercury-Pluto axis; his

Sun-Neptune axis squares the USA Sun (and aligns with

the USA Saturn); his Moon opposes the USA

Venus-Jupiter; and finally, his Leo Cluster of Mars,

Saturn and Pluto opposes the USA Moon and MC. Not bad

- but, now consider the synastry of George W. - his

Sun is in the same Sign as the USA Sun, and conjunct

same within one degree; his Moon squares the USA Sun

and conjuncts the USA Saturn; his Saturn opposes the

USA Pluto and conjoins the USA Mercury; his Mars

tightly squares the USA Asc and Uranus; his MC exactly

squares the USA Mercury and squares the USA Pluto; his

Neptune squares the USA Venus and Jupiter (there

again, is this important tie, in both Bush and Gore's

charts); his Jupiter is conjunct the USA Saturn and

widely square the USA Sun; his Mercury and Pluto are

opposed the USA MC; his Venus is also opposed the USA

Moon; and finally, his Nodal Axis and Uranus closely

conjuncts the USA Mars. Again, the ties between both

men's charts and that of the United States is

considerable, but it is Bush that has the closer,

tighter ties to the chart of the USA. Therefore,

Astrology supports him becoming President over Al

Gore. Later in this article, we will see how the

timing in both of these men's charts also said the

same thing.
