Guest guest
Dear Members, Much has been said about the conjunction of JU/RA but let's not forget the effects of JU when conjunct KE. One of our most respected modern-day authors (James Braha) is rather scathing in his description of Ketu conjunction...he says: "The most detrimental effects of the nodes occur when either one is closely conjunct with another planet. In such cases, the conjoined planet is terribly spoiled, AS ARE THE HOUSES IT RULES. If RA is the node involved, it harms mainly by dulling or suppressing the energy of the other influence so that it is powerless to function in it's normal way. On the other hand, a planet conjunct with KE seems to be dissolved or swallowed up into an abyss or kind of black hole. Then, rather than simply having it's potency clipped, that planet behaves in a weird, compulsive, and unconscious or uncontrollable way." I have in mind a native with KE conjunct ME within 3 degrees. This native is well known to me and most certainly his ME (reason/powers of logic) exhibits all the detrimental affliction of this conjunction (ascribed by Braha). Even though they are conjoined in the 10th (kendra) and Ke owns 9th whilst ME owns 7th. His (at times) totally unreasonable logic, difficulties in learning etc, are painfully obvious. He is so absolutely adamant in his unreasoning that no amount of logic will sway him or bring him to his senses. The houses ruled by ME are also greatly disturbed for this native. Another native by comparison with JU/RA conjunction found that the houses ruled by JU, contrary to being spoiled, were greatly blessed. JU in this particular chart owns 12th (foreign lands) and 3rd (servants). During the period of JU/RA this native achieved great success in a foreign land and was blessed by many wonderful servants. Logic dictates that if the significations of Jupiter were greatly spoiled, then so too would be the houses ruled by JU...perhaps the exaltation of JU had something to do with it :-) In any case it's an interesting scenario. This is simply a hypothesis, but surely, if JU or any so conjoined planet is with strength (Own S., Moolatrikona, Exalted) then it's more able to withstand the negative influence of the nodes (and in fact the nodes themselves would greatly benefit) whereas a planet without such strength is more easily spoiled, and less able to beneficially curtail the nodes. We saw in Ghandi's chart earlier that his MO was in Own S. in 10th. And certainly he had great success with the masses (MO).
