HAIL TO THE CHEIF, PART 1B

 

GENERAL ORIENTATION TO THE NEW PRESIDENT'S HOROSCOPE

There has been much said about the horoscope of George

W. Bush, in the last year or so; aside from this, his

lineage, communication and public relations style,

religiosity and more, are a matter of public record.

His chart, as I have rendered it, corroborates all of

these things.

 

Bush the Junior, is a very private man (Eastern

Hemisphere Emphasis, Sun and Saturn in the 12th) that

will rely heavily on those he trusts; loyalty is

Supreme, as he sees his closest advisors not only as

business partners, but as extensions of the family (

Moon and Jupiter in Libra, Sun and Saturn in Cancer,

Leo emphasis). He will employ a very structured style

of Governance, going with more tried and true methods,

rather than venturing out on the limb of

experimentation (Saturn Peregrine and square the MC).

Bush is definitely a diplomat, someone that will try

to arrive at solutions through consensus and careful

advisement, rather than by strong-arm unilateral

action (Venus in the 1st, Libra cluster in the 3rd).

He has a strong Religious point of view, and this

often will be the rationale behind his motivations;

there is also the hint of him not being as up-front as

possible regarding Matters of State - there is the

strong possibility of "making backroom deals" that, if

he is not careful, could come back to haunt him

(Neptune in the 3rd, ruling the 9th and both of these

houses have to do with Religion and Mindset; 12th

house emphasis; Mercury conjunct Pluto). His major

weakness, is that he is NOT used to adversity, and

will likely retreat when challenged strongly

(horoscope low in hard aspects, very reminiscent of

Clinton's chart; 12th house emphasis; Mars weakly

aspected). Four key midpoint formulas round out our

analysis of Bush's Western Horoscope, that suggests

arch-conservatism, the readiness to use force, a

volatile , even rebellious nature, and complicated

motives, which seems to run contra-parallel to his own

campaign statements of being a "uniter, not a

divider"; indeed, it seems that there is another

George W under the surface (Saturn = Sun/Pluto, Pluto

= Sun/Mars, Sun = Uranus/Pluto and Mars =

Neptune/Pluto).

 

His horoscope tracks very well his known life details;

his "Wandering Years" which were from 1968 to1973,

shows Solar Arc (SA) Neptune = Saturn, transiting (tr)

Saturn square Sun, opposed the Moon, and conjunct the

MC; SA Pluto = Saturn/Neptune, SA Uranus =

Sun/Neptune, SA MC = Uranus/Neptune, SA Moon =

Mars/Neptune, SA Neptune = Sun/Pluto, and SA Mercury =

Saturn/Neptune (1968); tr Neptune = Sun/Moon

(1970-71); tr Uranus opposed MC (being shaken out of a

rut), tr Jupiter opposed Asc and Pluto, tr Saturn

returning to its natal position; SA Asc = Sun/Moon, SA

Uranus = Sun/Moon (1973). His forays into the Oil

Business began in 1974; calling his company Arbusto

Energy, he started his business by taking out a

significant amount of money from his educational trust

fund; his business was on rocky ground from Day One,

and he finally closed up shop and sold the remaining

shares of his business in 1990; for the start of his

Oil Business - tr Neptune square Mars, ruler of the

10th, tr Pluto conjunct Neptune, SA Mars = Neptune, tr

Saturn square Neptune, tr Saturn conjunct the Sun, SA

Sun = Pluto, tr Uranus opposed MC, SA Mars = Venus,

both planets ruling the 10th. For the end of Arbusto

Energy, 1990 - tr Uranus square Neptune, tr Saturn

square the Moon and Jupiter; tr Neptune opposed the

Sun, tr Saturn square the MC. Note the extreme

emphasis on Neptune, the planet representing Oil.

 

Bush married in 1977, to Laura Welch, a librarian and

devout Christian, after a very brief courtship; it was

she that influenced George W. to study the Bible and

renew his commitment to the Church. At the time, tr

Jupiter square Venus, SA Neptune = Node (highlighting

the religiosity of the association), SA MC = Venus (a

classic signal of relationship, marriage, childbirth)

and tr Saturn conjunct Venus (commitment in

relationship); SA Moon = Venus/Pluto and SA Node =

Venus/Uranus rounds out the measurements for that

fateful year in Bush's life.

 

At this point in our overview of Bush's Western

horoscope, it is both very interesting and helpful to

take a look at the next First Lady, Laura Bush's

chart; at present there is no known birth time for

her; I have her birth date from the Lois Rodden

Database. However, we learn much from her Solarscope -

Laura's Astro-Profile presents a driven woman, even to

the point of severity; she has a passionate, almost

fanatical zeal about her Faith and the way in which it

can heal the world. She gains much from the refuge of

her intense idealism, and will undoubtedly be a strong

voice in the upcoming Bush Administration. Her

horoscope, as incomplete as it is, is much more

"harder" than her husband's; make no mistake about it,

she is his backbone (Sun conjunct Jupiter in Scorpio,

both square to the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Leo;

exact Jupiter-Saturn square, "proving a point", most

likely in religious terms; Mercury in Sagittarius is

Quindecile (QD) Uranus, conjunct Venus in Sagittarius

Retrograde, with Venus conjunct Mars in Scorpio; the

Moon is in Pisces. Sun = Saturn/Pluto, Neptune =

Mercury/Pluto, Jupiter + Saturn = Mercury/Neptune,

Node = Neptune/Pluto. Comparing her chart to that of

Bush's, her Saturn conjuncts his Asc, Mercury and

Pluto). At the time of her wedding to George W., she

was undergoing her Saturn Return, and more.

 

In 1981, the Bush family expanded, with the birth of

twin daughters, Jenna and Barbara; going back to

George W.'s chart, we see that SA Jupiter = Venus

(Jupiter ruling his 5th), tr Jupiter square the Sun

and conjunct the Moon, and more; and then, the most

profound change of Bush's life occurred in 1986. After

years of drinking and partying, he finally stopped

drinking alcohol and devoted himself in a new way to

the Church; at this momentous time, tr Neptune was

squaring its natal position (ruling the 9th and

alcohol), tr Uranus opposed its natal position, tr

Pluto square the Asc and SA Pluto = Uranus; SA Uranus

= Sun/Pluto, SA MC = Uranus/Pluto, and SA MC =

Sun/Moon.

 

Bush got out of the Oil Business and convinced a group

of investors to buy stock in the Texas Rangers, a

major league baseball team in 1989. Although Bush's

investment paled in comparison with that of the others

(only 600K), he ended up making over 14 million

dollars when he sold his shares in the team in 1998.

At the time of his investment in the team, SA Jupiter

= Sun, SA MC = Jupiter, and SA Pluto = Asc; tr Jupiter

square Mars (in the 2nd, ruling the 10th; Jupiter

rules of the 5th of speculative investments and

sports), tr Saturn opposed the Sun, etc.; at the time

he sold his shares in the team, SA Sun = Jupiter, tr

Jupiter square Uranus, SA Mars = Jupiter/Pluto, and

more.

 

Bush had run for office one time before he became the

Governor of Texas, back in 1978, in a failed bid for

Congress; by the time 1994 rolled around, Bush had

learned a thing or two about life in general, and

politics in particular. He set his sights on being

Governor of Texas, and though taken by the pundits as

a lightweight, he stuck to his issues, ran a strong

education platform, and defeated the Democratic

Gubernatorial fixture, the tough Anne Richards. The

Bush Dynasty was born. At this time in Bush's

horoscope, tr Jupiter had squared Pluto; SA Neptune =

Venus (making a dream come true, in terms of career

success; Venus rules the 10th), tr Uranus square the

MC, tr Jupiter square the Asc; SA MC =

Jupiter/Saturn, SA Uranus = Venus/Jupiter, SA Jupiter

= Sun/MC, and SA Sun = Uranus/Pluto. Bush went on from

there to run a second time for Governor, after a

successful first term in office; he won easily- SA Sun

= Jupiter, tr Saturn square Sun, tr Jupiter squaring

Uranus, and tr Jupiter opposed Mars (again, ruling the

10th). In this same year, his younger brother, Jeb

Bush was elected Governor of Florida; note that the

very same measurement that helped deliver George W's

second term, also won Jeb's seat as well. Jupiter is

placed in the 3rd house of George W's chart, the house

of siblings; it is contacted by the Sun (political

power, fame, success) by Solar Arc, and note, that the

12th house in Bush's chart now becomes the 10th for

his brother Jeb; therefore, SA Sun = Jupiter brought

not only George W his second term in office, it also

brought Jeb Bush his election victory in Florida.

 

George W. Bush announced his plans to run for

President of the United States in June, 1999, and won

the Elections after a hotly contested Court Battle

that ended up in the US Supreme Court; at the time of

his announcement (the year), tr Pluto square Mars

(again, ruler of his 10th, placed in the 2nd, saying

much about his ability to raise large amounts of money

for the campaign), tr Jupiter square Sun, opposed Moon

and opposed its own position; SA Asc = Pluto, SA

Jupiter = MC, and SA Jupiter = Mars. For the

Elections: SA Uranus = Pluto, tr Jupiter square Mars

(ruling 10), tr Jupiter square Asc; SA Mars = Asc/MC.

 

Contrast this with the Astrology going on in Al Gore's

chart at that same time - tr Uranus was opposes

Saturn, tr Neptune opposed Asc, tr Uranus opposed

Mars, and tr Saturn conjunct Venus in the 10th; this,

along with the fact that Bush's Dasas were much

stronger and favorable then Gore's ensured his defeat.

More on the Vedic analysis later in this report.

 

Curiously, tr Neptune, at the time of the Elections in

Nov 2000, was at 4 Aquarius, only 3 degrees away from

Bush's Dsc; it will exactly oppose his Asc in the 1st

year of his term. There has been much speculation that

the Bush team, both in Texas and certainly in Florida,

had rigged the Elections to make sure that Bush would

win; continued protests, going all the way up to

Inauguration Day, are planned. If Bush did indeed have

anything to do with the Elections, it will surely come

out under the Neptune transit. More on this in Part

Two of this series.

 

THE VEDIC VIEW OF GEORGE W. BUSH'S HOROSCOPE

In an earlier article, "The Road Ahead for Al Gore" I

suggested that his Vedic horoscope did not support his

becoming the President of the United States; my

reasons and analysis can be found in that essay. If

you take his chart and compare it to Bush's, there is

little doubt that Bush would win.

 

In a Vedic chart, there are combinations known as Raja

Yogas, that give fame, success, wealth, and even

Political Power. A politician should have at least a

few of these yogas in their chart, along with several

very well fortified houses; they are, the 1st, the

5th, and the 10th, as these are the houses of fame

(1st) luck (5th) and government (10th). In George W's

case, his horoscope has all of the makings of a

President. First off, Bush has a very strong 1st

house, containing two natural benefics, Mercury and

Venus; in addition, Venus rules the 4th house (an

Angle) and the 11th house of gains. Saturn rules the

7th (another Angle), and while not well placed in the

1st (Cancer), it is offset by the presence of two

natural benefics. Mars, which is very important for a

Cancer Asc due to its rulership of the 5th and 10th

houses, is well placed, in the 2nd house. This gives

tremendous financial power to Bush, as well as overall

prosperity. The Moon and Jupiter are both in the 3rd

house of independent efforts, and as the Moon is ruler

of the Asc, its association with natural benefic

Jupiter gives even more power to Bush's chart. In

addition, Jupiter's position is enhanced due to its

rulership of the 9th house, known as the House of

Bhagya (or Luck), again, bringing more power to Bush.

The 9th house is particularly strong; in Vedic

Astrology, the 9th house represents the Father, and

its ruler Jupiter, associated with the ruler of the

Asc Moon corroborates the strong role the elder Bush

has had in the younger Bush's ascension to Power. This

same combination, that of the Moon and Jupiter, will,

if strong and well placed, be a great asset to those

with political ambitions, which Bush certainly has.

 

The Planets of Political Power in a Vedic horoscope,

are the Sun and Saturn; in Bush's chart, both have a

good degree of strength. His Sun is in the 10th from

the Moon and bolstered by its placement in the

Navamsa, the 9th divisional chart used in Vedic

Astrology; Saturn, placed in the Asc, is also the 5th

lord from the Moon, and, Saturn aspects its own house.

Plus, going back to the Navamsa, the10th house is very

strong, holding Mars, the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn;

Mars is the ruler of the Asc, while Jupiter is the 5th

lord; the 10th lord is exalted (Sun again). All of

these are combinations of success in the political

realm. There is much more to be said about this

horoscope, and in the coming weeks, I will lay it all

out.

 

BUSH'S DASAS

Bush underwent 4 key Dasas since April 1967; Ketu

Dasa went into operation only months before his

"Wandering Years", such an apt phrase for Ketu, the

severed tail of the Serpent. Ketu ran until Apr 1974,

when the Venus Dasa took over; it was during this time

that Bush went into business for himself (1st house),

got married (Venus = Marriage, aspects 7th house of

marriage), had children (Venus with Saturn, the 5th

lord from the Moon), stopped drinking and underwent

profound religious change (Venus the 9th lord from the

Moon), and invested in a baseball team (Venus owns the

star that Mars is in, Mars the 5th lord and aspects it

own house). During the Sun Dasa (beginning Apr 1994),

Bush won his two terms in office as Governor of Texas

(Sun political planet, well-placed in natal and

Navamsa) and reaped a huge financial payoff from his

investment in the Texas Rangers (Sun 2nd lord).

 

That brings us to Bush's current Dasa, that of the

Moon (beginning Apr 2000); in Vedic Astrology, anytime

the Dasa of the Asc ruler comes up, it is almost

always a grand time for the native, unless said planet

is tremendously damaged; it usually brings good

results in all areas of life, dictated by the specific

combinations in that horoscope. This is the Dasa that

brought Bush the Presidency, through both its

rulership of the very well fortified Asc and through

its association with Jupiter, the 9th lord. This

period will continue until at least late Feb; after

that, things take a different turn for the New

President. The Honeymoon will soon be over.
