Guest guest
ok, Sorry, since Dasji's letter was not too long, I did not think it would be an issue, especially since I am not very active on the list. For me actually, this works better because when there is a thread, I prefer to store just the last email to retain the entire discussion. But Apologies again if that is against the list rules. Getting back to astrology, I'll use this posting to request info. on a basic issue that has been bothering me for some some. If a planet is in debilitation, but in its own Nakshatra, then how is it viewed ? Is it still debilitated ? For e.g Mercury in Pisces in Revathi ? I could not find information on this in standard texts. Thanks in advance - Regards, Sunita.
Guest guest
Dear Sunita, Mercury is the only planet thats debilitation rasi coincides with a nakshatra owned by it. According to Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra Mercury is exalted in the first 15 degrees of Virgo and that the planets debilitatin is opposite its exaltation which would make Mercury only debilitated in the first 15 degrees of Pisces and not in fact in Revati. The closer a planet is to deep debilitation, 15 degrees of Pisces for Mercury, the weaker it is on that account. Guest guest
Hello Sunita, A Planet in debilitation is a planet in debilitation. Now you are trying to put Mercury in Revati Nakshatra and which is its own nakshatra and looking for modifications in the debilitation of this planet. Now according to shadbal, it has zero strength at exact debilitation point and thereafter it starts gaining proportionately. Moreover, look at it this way. Revati nakshatra is from 16.40 to 30 degrees of Pisces. Now Mercury is placed in the the 6th to 9th navamsha. And hence navamsha position should also be analysed before arriving at any decision. No planet loses its qualities on account of debilitation or exaltation. There is a concept of cancellation of debilitation but in actual practice, it does not work. What works is the inherent qualities of the planet and the position it attains by virtue of being exalted or debilitated. regards, Manoj _______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
