I am wondering do you have any kind of experience about transcendental

consciousness?!

The answer is flatly no. My life is wholly mundane and I wallow in a

well of sensual addiction without a trace of light. I have never met

anyone holy, divine, transcendental. I don't believe in it and I'm

probably going to hell.

;~)

The real answer to your question is that you have to understand that

there is another conception of what is holy, transcendent etc., separate

from the one that you have, separate from the one that says "She's not

the only one" etc. There is not just one conception of what is Hindu

enlightenment. (Because if she's "one", then "being Devi" is "it" or

"acceptable" and that is in question with some of us as some of us feel

you cannot ever be Devi because Devi is Devi and nobody else can "be

Devi" and Devi would never be human, and Amma is obviously human-it's

personalistic verse impersonalistic theism)

Don't want to go into it more here/now.

I respectfully accept Amma as the Guru of many, and see that they are

benefitted. Like I said, I have a good friend who is a Devotee of Amma,

and this person is a GOOD friend of mine, a person with GOOD

qualitities, who attributes them primarily to being around Amma alot,

and I can't/won't/don't deny that persons feelings. But I don't have to

theosophically agree with what this person constantly says, which is

that "Amma is God". Similarly, I also don't agree when some popular

movements state that "we are all God", etc.

I experience my understanding of transcendence quite often. I have to to

survive to be honest, as I find life without it virtually unlivably

awful, horrifying, miserable, frightening, scary, unhappy, deadly, and

all the other worst words I can think of.

Words and knowledge are pieces. The summation of knowledge is hard to

speak out, true. But to not speak at all doesn't help those who are

learning. Also true is that the teacher must walk where the students

live, ortherwise, how will they meet him?

Divinity "comes down" to reveal itself but doesn't interfere in the

process of the Jivas apparent path of "choice", otherwise the path gets

spoiled and the goal impossible. That is why God is so hard to find. You

have to go through all that is found on the path of "you really have to

want Him badly". That's what it's all about here. It's never "easy" to

find Divine touch.

Astrologically speaking. I have Jupiter in the 9th in Sag at 9 Degrees,

and I was born on 9-Navami. So with all this Ninth, how DARE YOU

QUESTION my link to God!

I'm kidding.

But seriously, astrologically speaking, shouldn't I have something in

that area?

Hey Mark, Love Ya Brother!

ps: This was fun! Ask me another question. :-)

Dear friends,

Dasji´s letter may sound like cold water.

As an undergraduate I had a great Principal (Dean, President or whatever you

call the head of the college). a scotsman, who was decorated with the Order of

the British empire. he had an open house, any student could go to to him for

help and advice at any time. But he had "open" afternoons, when one could have

tea with him and discuss things. I was frequently there. We received deep

insights into philosophy and English literature from him. But my subjects were

Maths, physics and chemistry - about which he rarely spoke. I learned from him

him wonderful things, but our contact - like father and son - did not help me in

any way to pass my exams. I had to learn my subjects!

Meeting an avatar, finding a guru, is like that! The teacher is a matter of

luck. The student has to learn what he has to learn. Guru devo bhavah! Treat

your teacher as God! Yes, but realize that it is God who is the guru, through

the teacher!

Rama, Krishna, Chaitanya, Sankara, Ramanuja, Sai Baba, Ammachi, Meera .....

they are all only "slave computers"! The Master is Parabrahman, the Immortal,

whereas all avatars are mortal! Avatars show us how to live, help us to

understand if we cannot think, but the ultimate goal is Parabrahman.

Thanks Raghu, for candid letter!

regards

Mani
