"Siddhis" are natural talents of the man, but the man has forgotten them. Correct meditation can cultivate these talents, which are not anykind of supernatural, people just thinks them "supernatural"; and of course, in this western materialistic point of view/cosmology these are something strange, but that´s because it is so new topic. Is great that modern science, physics and medicine, are taken big steps in searching human consciousness. When i was younger i practised some yoga, but my main "sport" was japanese aikido (Ueshiba´s aikikai). Nowadays physical activities are changed to more mental. As far as i can remember to my childhood, i´ve always been very spiritualized being. I´ve always been interested in religions and philosophies etc, just like as i already "knew" them. Later on i get to Transcendental Meditation, because i feel it´s just the best meditation method ever seen - of course there are many ways to enlightment; I´m not depending TM or any other methods/ways - i am just going my walk... Genuine, but not directly connected with or necessary for spiritual advancement, more by-products of the discipline gained by meditation - or as in-born talents. The Raja Yoga of Patanjali requires one to surrender all siddhis and ask only for nearness to God!... or never bother to learn the siddhis, but meditate only on the nearness. regards Mani

The siddhis are not the purpose, but enlightment. Patanjali took wrong in that man must have first yama, niyama and so on - and at last dharana, dhyana and the samadhi. No, samadhi must be first. That is transcendental meditation. Through many samadhi- experiences man can attain enlightment. Siddhis are just products.
