Dear Mark, 1. I just love you for cutting out all the irrelevant parts of the original letter and quoting only what you want to answer!!! Das and I have written about this a few times, but this "e-mail etiquette" is practised by, alas, too few! 2. Death is an area where I do not trust tradition. There are astrologers who claim to be able to foretell death, but they quote only successes, not the failures. It is always 50/50. Possible moments for death may be shown, but not with certainty. The Nadis often give combinations for death, but these can occur many times in life. Which one applies is uncertain. The best Nadi reading I had was MOSTLY correct but wrongly interpreted : the deeper truth is applicable, but not the way the "reader" said from his subjective understanding. It broke off at the age of 66, saying I would buy land .... the rest was in the hands of God! I am noww 66, have not bought land, but have contributed to the purchase of an estate for a common purpose! Will I see my 67th birthday? God only knows! all I can do is to sing "Swing low, sweet chariot..." 3. The Nadi readings speak of past sins. The connections are very puerile, patriarchal, prejudiced. Terrible things in this life are a result of insubordination to the father or husband in the former life!... Very subjective interpretations. Actually clairvoyance, telepathy, telekinesis etc. are "circus tricks"! Some acquire these "siddhis" or talents by practice of yoga etc., but many are just born with them, people who do not even understand these things! They can have a low IQ level, be "ignorant" and even "stupid". It is a mechanical "defect" in the brain, that connects the person with the Akasha Chronicle "unintentionally", whereas "normal" brains have to learn to establish this contact! Were the traditional "seers" divinely inspired or "blindly" receptive? Certainly some would have belonged to the latter category. 4. A tree grows by deriving its nourishment thru the roots, but becomes a tree by sending out new sprouts! Restricting to tradition will lead to heavy manifestation of the roots, but no tree will appear! No jyothish treatise can overrule the concepts of the Upanishads. Jyothish is occupied with occurrences, the upanishads wit tjhe freedom of thought! The planets can only be clocks. If the clock says it is time for me to have lunch, it is still I who decides to have lunch or fast! 5. I was in Finnland only once, but loved it! The sound of the wind in the trees was like the singing of cellos. A great friend painted the forest where we went fo walks and the painting hangs on my main living room wall! Sibelius is my favourite composer, his music is full of the cello of the wind in the forest! Somehow I felt that every Finn was in contact with God - an exaggeration, of course, but the country forces one to think of the creator, the heart and mind accompany the Swan of Tuonela! ... And the folly of mankind reminds one of the lemmings who rush to drown themselves - or the other way around! regards Mani
