Guest guest
Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!! Namaste dear Mani.... you mean you can't see that halo around your head???...but of course no saint will ever see the halo around his own head...he will only think himself to be the greatest of sinners..... in my letter i was not trying to make anyone "feel good" by siting connections between certain saints... Actually i was exploring the possibilities that there are certain "families" of traditions in this world...and that you may be able to see some correlations of this in comparing their charts...just as you can see interesting correlations between yourself and your wife...and your kids....correlations which are indeed obvious....and i believe that my thesis is correct and is shown by the chart comparisons i have done so far...... i submit that you CAN see these things in charts...and that useful information may be extracted from such analysis....to have you so casually dismiss it, suggests to me that you have not REALLY looked at the charts which i sent you...because if you compare them honestly, knowing about Atmakarakas, and Ishtadevatas and such and using the Mahasamadhi chart for Sri Ramakrsna, you wouldn't be able to be so flippant about it all.....Especially try to check out the Mahasamadhi chart BETWEEN Sri Ramakrsna's and Amma's Natal charts, and then check Sri Ramakrsna's NAVAMSHA (often used to peer into the future life) and compare it with AMMA's Natal chart...if you don't see a relationship there, you need glasses.... Comparing our charts with the saints is not to make us feel good, but if we compare them with our own GURU'S Chart (which you do not believe in as i understand...) and if we compare the days and times of meeting these great souls both with our own charts and the charts of the great soul, we WILL see interesting transits happening....to just casually dismiss it all as imagination is going too far.... i submit that the chart relationships between the great souls in our lives and ourselves will reveal the kind of relationships we have with them...if you look for Ishtadevata, in my case you will find that the charts confluently point very strongly at AMMA. if you look for the Guru using several different techniques, in my case, you will find that they ALL point at AMMA as my Guru...to deny this you must not be looking....because it's as obvious as the nose on my face....just following classical Jyotish methods...the same work very well, and LITERALLY for many of Amma's Devotees...Just because you are not a Devotee in that way, you should not put down other's relationships with Her....and in fact dear Mani when i did an analysis of your chart by the same means....they also point very strongly to AMMA....Whether you believe this or not i really don't care...but i can SEE it.... my little story about the Christmas star was not meant to be taken literally so much as a musing on the wonder of the strange Astrological events occurring just at Christmas this year at the turn of the millenium...my apologies for my impreciseness...i am not an engineer...but more a poet....and i was originally writing that letter for my Amma Group....so it may not be perfect Jyotishly speaking... i feel that you have not really given the information i gave you the serious thought that i had hoped you would, but have rather just dashed off your negative reaction to it.... i think that we CAN see these relationships in JYotish...we CAN see when certain events happen...we can see (at least) the interesting transits that happened when we met our SatGuru....and if we have an open mind we can learn a great deal....Why do you think we learn jyotish...what are the Mahadashas, the transits and such for??? TO INDICATE LIFE EVENTS AND THE IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN ONE'S LIFE.... IS NOT ONE'S ISHTADEVATA AN IMPORTANT PERSON IN ONE'S LIFE? IS NOT THE SAT GURU AN IMPORTANT PERSON IN ONE'S LIFE????.....AT LEAST AS IMPORTANT AS YOUR WIFE AND CHILDREN AND JOB!!!!! In the Divine Mother's Love and in Her Service i humbly salute you! as ever, Your Own Self!! visvanathan Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!!

My dear KV, Your letter reminds me of a story told by Woody allen: A guy goes to a friend and asks if would like to go hunting with him. The friend answers, "I´m game!". So the guy promptly shoots him dead! You seem to have missed the meaning of my letter. Your research about the various connections between the saints and events is certainly interesting and well worth studying. They bring out a lot of "karmic" interaction and can have a predictive value too, if a final analysis is made, after your research. I only expressed my own feelings when I see all the amazing contacts in my chart with so many great souls - all of whom I admire - but am myself so "small"! I ask myself, "the ingredients seem to be right, but why does the soup taste so insipid?"... If I do not treat this situation with humour, how else can I bear it? My words about the star etc. were not meant to snub you at all! During the last 200 years scientists and later theologians have tried to find "scientific" and "historical" explanations for the gospels - and generally concluded that they were "fairy tales" created by a few fanatics. The chief objections raised to contradict the gospels were: - angels talking to people - virgin motherhood - performance of miracles - lack of historical records for various things. Most of these objections are no longer valid. But the last one is a difficult one to refute, unless one sees the events in proper perspective, does not look for records that cannot exist or would have been erased deliberately. For example the slaughter of all new born babes in Bethlehem meant perhaps a dozen cases only and WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN RECORDED : all the murders perpetrated by Herod were done secretly, for he had no right to kill any "Roman citizen" except with the permission of Pilate, the Roman governor! Another example: the crucifixion was a State Murder, even pilate felt it was illegal. All records would have, if at all kept, have disappeared when Pilate was impeached later for illegal acts. It happens today too: a secretary of state is accused of irregularities and somehow all files relating to the event manage to disappear!!! One of the difficult events is the Star of Bethlehem. At least two astronomers have written books to explain this strange phenomenon. Both have got some details right, like the conjunction you have mentioned. But both have tried to find the Star of B. and naturally failed! It was invisible to the common people and could not have been recorded. That was all I was saying - to restore faith in the story, not to banalize it. I may sound flippant at times. Faith in God may remove my fear of death, but only humour keeps me going and prevents my seeking death before my time! Here two stories: A great poet and humorist in my land, called Raman, is supposed to have received his poetic talent from Mother Durga. He was the village wit. He spent a whole night at a temple, praying to Durga. The night was cold and he caught a chill, by dawn his nose was running like the Ganges. Then suddenly Durga appeared to him, in her ten-headed form. Raman, instead of falling at her feet, fell into a fit of laughter. When he had regained control of himself, Durga asked him why he had laughed so much. He answered, "This night I have caught a cold and am having hell with my one nose. I couldn´t help imagining how it´ll be for you, if you caught a cold, with your ten noses!" Durga laughed her guts out and gave him poetic talent as a boon for having made her laugh. A dream I had: I was at the gates of heaven, a huge crowd of angels, with trumpets, harps and flutes etc. were standing outside with mournful faces. The gates were shut and a sign saying "NO ENTRY" hung on it. I asked what had happened. One of them said, "We were singing hymns as usual, when HE suddenly got up, told us to get out and shut the gates behind us! He then said we we were awfully boring with our perpetual chants." Suddenly a small angel started giggling, and said, "We´ve been singing all these years and thought He enjoyed it! Boy, were we dumb!" The giggling caught on and soon all were laughing at themselves. There was a bang and the gates flew open, the "no entry sign" was consumed in fire, a beautiful voice called out "Come in all my children, for you have learned to laugh! I have new teachers for you, learn from them!" I was allowed to join and saw the new teachers: I knew all of them, they included Red Nichols, Louis Armstrong, Glenn Miller, Gershwin, .... Charlie Chaplin ....Charles Dickens.....Mark Twain..... Poetry and humour are the two horses that pull the chariot of the heart towards faith and salvation. If one horse is missing, the goal is by-passed! Please don´t take this as a personal criticism. God did not create us to sit with us finally in Heaven in total solemn meditation, but to laugh and hug and dance with us! If my Mother and I cannot laugh with each other, and AT EACH OTHER, I´m not very keen about Moksha at all! ... Ammachi laughs most of the time, her telling stories are full of wit .....
