Guest guest
Hi Folks: Amidst all this discussion of Bush, Gore and the presidency, I wondered what the Bush presidency would look like. It might be worth noting that this inauguration chart would apply to Gore too, if by some bizarre turn of events, three faithless electors come forward on Monday and change their votes. Not likely, but still a remote possibility. This inauguration chart is very energized. Assuming it takes place according to custom at 12.00 pm, the Asc will be 20Ar12 (krishnamurti). What's immediately noteworthy here is that lagnesh Mars closely aspects Asc from 22Li25. On one hand this strengthens the chart as a whole since the first house is aspected by its ruler, but to my mind, it introduces an element of volatility and aggressiveness, given Mars' natural significations. The amount of sheer power is magnified by virtue of Rahu's (21Ge40) near exact aspect to Mars. Moreover, Rahu's dispositor Mercury is in the 10th conjunct the destabilizing Uranus. There's a lot of power here and that makes me think that the US will in involved in a major war during the next 4 years. Its leadership will be tested. Also, Mars(22Li25) exactly squares 6L of enemies and competition Mercury(22Cp50). Also navamsha Mars(22Ar35) is conjunct Asc and AGAIN squares 6L Mercury in the 10th. D-9 Mercury (25Cn32) exactly opposes Uranus(25Cp55) which points to an unstable 10th house of power as well as unpredictable enemies. The economy looks iffy at best. 12L Jupiter is in the 2nd with Saturn. What's more, Jupiter is less than a week from its direct station, so it's power is all the greater. 2L Venus(23Aq59) is in the 11th which is good, but closely aspected by Rahu. The economy is further ripe for surprising turns to the worse with D-9 Uranus(23Le13) exactly opposing 2L Venus(23Aq59). Depending on how one reads the chart, the presidency himself might be seen by the 1st house or the 10th. I prefer the 10th here as leader, with the 1st house representing the body politic/nation as a whole, but I'm no authority. The Sun is karaka for president/leader and it is closely aspected by that 12L stationary Jupiter. Ouch -- that's not good for leaders, and given the history of "zero year curse", I don't think this chart gives Bush any comfort in escaping that fate. Anyway, I've just stratched the surface here and lay no claim to being an expert in mundane astrology. Still, I think this chart is pretty action-packed and well worth a look for an indication of the coming 4 years. Chris
