computation of Sudasas

Dear Guaranga Dasji & other members,

 

I have a problem in understanding Sudasa computation.

I need your help

 

Determination of Shrilagna and the commencement and

progress of sudasas (lagnadi rasi dasa) is clearly

mentioned in the Jaimini Upadesa Sutras by pandit

Sanjay Rath (chapter II Quarter IV sutras no. 2.4.27

to 2.4.34).

 

A couple of examples given in the book COVA by the

same author (pp 95-97) showed the

commencement/progress of Sudasas from Kendras,

Apoklimas & Panaparas to Shrilagna . The method

adopted in COVA does not seem to follow what is

written in Jaimini Upadesa Sutras ( from what is

written in above sutras), which talk about Regular &

Zodiacal from Srilagna for Odd signs and the opposite

for the Even signs.

 

Is there any thing else to the above sutras that needs

to be considered, while computing Sudasas?

 

Could you please enlighten me with the different

methods of computing Sudasas or the best way of doing.

 

Also I would like to know the commencement/progress of

sub-periods and sub-sub-periods. Do they follow the

same rules for progress from the concerned Dasa signs,

as the main dasa periods?
