Guest guest
Dear Mani <<I am not quite convinced by this: this means that X has to keep waiting till I pay, and also does not have a chance to forgive and let go. I think deed and soul are independent. If I owe Y a debt, I cannot find peace till I "repay", but this does not have to be to Y, but to Z, who represents Y for me. Y on the other hand would benefit by letting me go. It is a question of passing on the favours one receives, rather than repaying. The Gita injunction of "give without expecting reward" would have little meaning otherwise.>> Well, karma is a science and we as humans cannot grasp the whole thing. There are millions of karmic equations. Many years ago i read a very interesting article in the Astrological Magazine of the late B.V. Raman, regarding nadi readings. More or less it went like this: A Hindu father & his daughter. Her lover & her husband. In a previous life, she fell in love with a Muslim man. Her father objected and married her to a Hindu. Because she was still in love, she made hell at home to the point that the husband took his own life. Once a widow, she found her lover and "lived forever happily". Present life, she left husband because he spent downry money, was drunk all the time and giving her a hard time. Nadi reading said that due to taking his own life, husband was born again with very low class habits and because she was part of the karma (perhaps tactless), she had to pay part of the consequences. Nadi advised divorce to cut karma off. 3 years after divorce, she was going to find Mr right, get married, have 2 more children (1 child from 1st marriage) & have a good economical & emotional life & destined to die @ 64. Her 2nd husband is her lover from previous life according to the Nadi reading. I remember another reading done to a friend. In this life he has been very unlucky with ladies. According to the Nadi reading, in previous life he had a harem and was very nasty to his wives. In this life he came to pay back to all of them. Of course, we should be cautious about Nadi readings because some are bogus and also the prescription is given according to time, age & circumstances, but we can get an idea of how karma works. Attachment to our habits creates karma (reactions). Natabara das
