Guest guest
Hello Dharmapada Ji, Pranams. Regarding the rising sign of Bhaktivedanta Swami, well, both of the lagnas being considered give a good chart. Such were the planets that day! The fact that the official time gives Capricorn, and the fact that this is what was used throughout Prabhupada's life (so I've heard) as His chart, and thus that's what he went by when talking to Astrologers, these things make me go with Capricorn. Also, the fact that He ends up with planets in the 8th house using this ascendent does not bother me as I think these effects are there in his life and in His movement ISKCON. I do not have a hard or fixed opinion. This just seems to make the most sense right away. He doesn't seem to look Sagittarian to me, nor did He seem to act that way either. Mercury exalted in the 9th has a classical reading that says "Will perform yagyas all over the world". Funny huh? (Supports Cap. lagna) But whatever. I haven't heard the much evidence being spoken around. I'm not on enough devotee lists or discussion I fear. This is a simply-formed opinion in other words. Guest guest
Hello What time are you using? I came up with Sag rising. I used Sept. 1 1896, 3:30 p.m., Calcutta, India. I got this info from a book by Tom Hopke (Nilina-Kantha das) "How to Read Your Horoscope". Short summary of the reading here. Sun in Leo in the 9th(Religion W/Jupiter (lord of 1st) for a powerful Raja Yoga. During Mercury(Karaka for Writing) dasa exalted in the 10th he publishes many Vols of Vedas & spreads God Consciousness worldwide. Rahu is well positioned in the 3rd (Upacharya house). Next Dasa Ketu 71-77(Moksha Karaka) get the good vibes from Jupiter/Sun in the 9th. Ketu Caused Death 1977 as it afflicted Sun(Health Karaka)& lord of 1st.At the time of death transiting Saturn (maraka planet also) was tightly conjunct Jup lord of the 1st & Sun. Guest guest
Dear Dahrmapadaji I also support the Capricorn Lagna .Movable Earth signifies someone who will change the world in a practical sort of way . This Lagna puts the 5th and 9th religious Lords in the house of religion the 9th . It has the 12th Lord of Moksha closely conjunct Ketu the planet of moksha in a mokshaic house .So it is spiritually very powerful with powerful combinations for dharma and moksha . The first Lord is then exalted in the house of work making for exalted activities . Hope this helps Nicholas ---------- > Das Goravani <> > gjlist > [gjlist] Bhaktivedanta Swami's Lagna Sign Dispute > Sunday, 22 October 2000 12:30 > > > Hello Dharmapada Ji, > > Pranams. > > Regarding the rising sign of Bhaktivedanta Swami, well, both of the > lagnas being considered give a good chart.
