Guest guest
An interesting point has come up in private correspondence that I am sure must have come up on this list before . Shil-Ponde says in the Joytishi Shastra book I have that "the power of each house extends from a point midway between its cusp and the cusp of the preceding house, to a point midway between its cusp and the cusp of the succeeding house . In other words , Hindu star-scientists consider that the cusp of each house is the centre of the activity and power of that house " and later on "... the beginning of the First House .THIS IS THE RISING POINT IN HINDU ASTROLOGY {sic} . It is a point exactly midway between the Cusps of the Twelfth House and the Ascendant " .I am still a little confused about the difference in significance between the Rising Point and the Ascendant , and like my friend am rather baffled as to where the house power comes into play in this scheme of things . She thinks Shil-Ponde's statements arise out of something to do with casting by the moon , but I am not fully convinced of this .Please enlighten this poor soul . Guest guest
Perhaps Das or anyone else who has it could re-post that article by Martin Gansten. His thoughts regarding what makes a house are worth reading. Regards Wendy W. And there is the Sripathi Sytem of unequal houses - which is similar to the Placidus division with the difference that the ascendant and the cusps of the houses are in the midlle of the house -similiar to the equal house system. The Statement of Shil Ponde that the beginning of the House is the rising point makes no sense to me, this is the case in most house methods in western astrology, not so according to my knowledge of Jyotish which is limited- so please correct me if i am wrong _____________________ 1.000.000 DM gewinnen - kostenlos tippen - http://millionenklick.web.de IhrName, 8MB Speicher, Verschluesselung - http://freemail.web.de gjlist-
