Guest guest
Hello! Here is a great prayer to Ganesh! Ganesh is prayed to for removal of obstacles. This can effect different people in various ways. For an example to a renunciate or spiritualist money could be considered an obstacle & vice versa. Since we are on the topic I thought I'd share this. SRI GANAPATI STOTRAM Sri Narada Uvaca: 1. Pranamya sirasa devan Gauriputram Vinayakam Bhaktavasam smaren nityam Ayuhka martha siddhaye 2. Pratham vakra kundam ca Ekadantam dvitryakam Trtiyam Krsna pingaksam Gajaraktam catur thakam 3. Lambodram pancamam ca Sastham vikatam eva ca Saptamam vighnarajam ca Dhumravarnam tathastamam 4. Japed Ganapati Stotram Sadhir masaih phalam labhet Samvatsarena siddhim ca Labhate natra samsayah 8. Astanam brahmananam ca Likhitva yah samarpayet Tasya vidya bhavet sadyo Ganessaya prasadatah 1. With head bowed, let me unceasingly worship in my mind the god Vinayaka, the son of Gauri, the refuge of his devotees, for the complete attainment of longevity, amorous desires and wealth. 2. Firstly, as the one with the twisted trunk. Secondly, as the one with the single tusk. Thirdly, as the one with the fawn colored eyes. Fourthly, as the one with the elephants mouth, 3. Fifthly, as the pot-bellied one, Sixthly, as the monstrous one, Seventhly, as the king of obstacles, Eighthly, as the smoke colored one 4. Ninthly, as the moon crested one, Tenthly, as the remover of hindrances, Eleventhly, as the Lord of the hordes, Twelfthly, as the one with the elephants face. 5. Whosoever repeats these twelve names at dawn, noon and sunset, for him there is no fear of failure, nay, there is constant good fortune. 6. He who desires knowledge obtains knowledge. He who desires sons gets sons. He who desires salvation obtains the way. 7. Whosoever mutters the hymn to Ganapati reaches his aim in six months, and in a year reaches perfection, on this point there is no doubt. 8. Whosoever makes eight copies of it, and has them distributed to as many Brahmans, he reaches knowledge instantaneously, by the grace of Ganesh. Sri Ganesh likes Visnu prasadam. Maha-water and sweet balls All glories to Gurudeva, Srila Prabhupada, who brought Vedic Wisdom to the World Here is a quote from Srila Prabhupada's Nectar of Devotion: Dancing "While watching the Rasa Dance performed by Lord KRSNA and the Gopies, Lord Siva beheld the beautiful face of KRSNA and immediately began to dance & beat upon his dindima drum. While Lord Siva was dancing in ecstasy, his eldest son , Ganesh, joined him" (Nectar of Devotion- Swami Srila Prabhupada Ch 27 page 219) Here is another Quote from NofD "One should begin the worship of the Demigod Ganapati, who drives away all impediments in the execution of devotional service. In the Brahma-Samhita it is stated that Ganapati worships the lotus feet of Lord Nrsimhadeva (1/2 Lion 1/2Man) and in that way has become auspicious for the devotees in clearing out all impediments. Therefore all devotees should worship Ganapati." (NofD Ch. 8 Pg. 71) Sri Brahma-Samhita text 50 " I adore the primeval Lord Govinda, whose lotus feet are always held by Ganesh upon a pair of tumuli protruding from his elephant head in order to obtain power for his function of destroying all the obstacles on the path of progress of the three worlds." PURPORT {By Sri Bhaktisidhanta Sarasvati Thakur Maharaja (Guru of HDGSP)} "The power of destroying all obstacles to mundane prosperity has been delegated to Ganesh who is the object of worship to those eligible to enjoy worship him. He has obtained the rank among the five Gods as Brahma Possessing Mundane quality. The self same Ganesh is a God in possession of delegated power by infusion o f divine power. All his glory rests entirely on the grace of Govinda."
