Guest guest
Rashi-based aspects as outlined by Parashara work better than standard drishtis in varga charts. Comments? Guest guest
Not according to Late R. Santhanam (Sorry, can't quote page and verse). Some recent views (on the net and in print) state that all rules that are applicable to rashi charts can be applied to vargas. They further indicate that the way it is dealt with in BPHS, the vargas are defined and described then the combinations ec\tc. are elaborated. The implication is that all those rules apply to all the charts earlier described. However, drishti being a factor that is based on arc-distance between bodies, there could be room for discussion. Rashi drishtis fall in a slightly different category from these. Although one may argue that angular distance plays a part here too (especially in the ignoring of the adjacent sign not being connected by aspect) but the primary basis is the chara-sthira-dwiswabhava (nature) of the rashis which does not change from rashi to varga and remains the same. In fact if one reads carefully, rashi chart has been depicted as one of the vargas itself and does not fall in a separate category. Guest guest
Assuming that this is a response to my earlier posting, while it is true that divisional charts have been recommended for determining strengths (saptavargaja bala and vimshopaka etc) they have also been shown to have qualitative differences. Navamsha for spousal matters, saptamamsha for progeny, etc. There is more to them than simply 'strength determination", obviously Manas >"Manoj Pathak" <manojpathak >gjlist >gjlist >Re: [gjlist] rashi drishti in vargas >Thu, 14 Sep 2000 18:38:45 IST > >Yes, I am also aware of what BPHS says about it. Guest guest
Yes, I am also aware of what BPHS says about it. This over this : The planet is in Aries in the zodiac and therefore aspects Libra but it goes to aries, taurus, gemini, cancer, leo or such navamsha. supposing it attains anyother navamsha than aries or libra, would it change its position in the zodiac. no. the divisional charts have been given to us for analysing the strengths of the planets. Just ponder over it a bit. regards, Manoj _______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Guest guest
Accepted, that goes without saying, what you have mentioned. There are certain yogas too, which are dependent on divisional charts, but where is "drishti" in the vargas.
