Guest guest
Dear Members Many newcomers to Vedic astrology and converts to our system do not know how to use the nakshatras or don't realize just how important they are in interpreting a chart. One example I will explain for beginners is when the Moon falls in a nakshatra of Mars. That is Mrigashira, Chitra or Dhanishta. When this situation is present Saturn becomes the 4th dasha lord that kicks in in the mid 30's to early forties depending on the time of birth. Depending on the rest of the chart this can be a destructive dasha inflicting death and misery. Princess Diana was born with the Moon in Dhanishta as was John Kennedy Jnr. He died in the Saturn dasha and she died at the very end of Jupiter dasha not even making the Saturn dasha unless her birth time used is slightly incorrect. I know of a number of other charts where this Saturn period has killed the person. These examples may be a bit drastic but are given to show the importance of using the nakshatras to see the inner workings or karmic effects of a planet. I recently looked at a mans chart who's life had self destructed, he got divorced and lost his house and business, he was in a serious car accident and has severe neck and spinal problems. He has generally lost the plot and was taking drugs to ease his physical and mental problems. He was born in Sagittarius with lagna lord Jupiter in the 8th house. Mars is in the lagna with Rahu afflicting lagna lord by 8th house aspect and Saturn is in the 11th house also afflicting lagna lord by its worst aspect. Saturn is aspecting Mars in the lagna itself. To top things off, Moon is in the second house in Dhanishta, a nakshatra of Mars. This guy is an Indian and his name is Chandra which is of course the name of the Moon. The Moon is the depositor of the lagna lord Jupiter who is exalted in Cancer. Exalted planets when badly placed can bring exalted misery. Another example is Dianas Moon in Dhanishta, the nakshatra lord Mars is in the 12th house with Rahu. She died in a foreign country in an accident with a Muslim man. She was rumoured to be also having a secret affair with a Pakistani Doctor who was also a Muslim. Rahu is karaka for all non hindus and foreigners. Her Moon is in the same house as Saturn and when she died Saturn was in her 7th house in the 8th house from natal Mars. Never ever underestimate the destruction this aspect can cause when Saturn is receiving and 8th house aspect from Mars or are in mutual aspect. Princess Caroline, John Lennon, J.F.K, Hitler and many others who died violently have this aspect, but thats another posting.............. Hope this helps somebody Skinbags

Thanks for the postings you sent me prior to your trip. I found them very helpful.. and insightful. it has been great reading your postings with Chris. After reading this one I had some questions about nakshatras. If i am understanding correctly, to interpret dasa results, you look not only to the planet in the rasi but to the lord to the nakshatra for that dasa as well. For example Jupiter in my chart is in Shatabishak, ruled by rahu. Would you look to the placement of rahu in the rasi (and navamsa) for indications in the jupiter mahadasa? what about aspects to rahu? Would the energy of rahu be more important than its house placement in figuring results? For example rahu sits in the 9th house in the rasi; would 9th house matters be figured into the jupiter dasa very heavily? how does the importance of the nakshatra lords weigh against the actual planet involved? Probably enough questions for now. Thanks for bringing the subject to light. Marcia @}-------->--------------
Guest guest
Dear Marcia, First off your lagna lord Mars is dig bala in the 10th house in his mates house Leo. He is with Uranus and friend 9th lord Moon. This is a wonderful combination especially for an astrologer as lagna lord falls in the nakshatra of birth yogi planet Ketu. Ketu the moksha karaka also falls in the navamsha lagna. Rahu and his dasha may have brought some difficulties for you as firstly he is ava yogi located in the sign of the Motherand home and happiness in bad aspect to Saturn. Although Ketu is birth yogi it is with Saturn who is enemy of both the lagna lord and the Moon. The Moon is afflicted by Mars and this would make you strong minded and perhaps a bit bad tempered as would your father have been. This combination shows a strong father who may have been a military man as Mars is very strong with the 9th lord of the father. I see this strong Mars in a lot of Thai girls I know whose fathers are Generals in the Thai army. This Rahu may have caused some problems with the parents because it is in the natural house of the mother and also in the home of the 9th lord of father. Jupiter is in the 4th house in Rahus nakshatra oppossing Mars. Jupiter is the lord of the natural 9th house of father also. You were born on ashtami day when the Moon is square to Sun although they are in trinal houses; this often shows divorce or difficulties with the parents. This Rahu dasha most probably has been tough because Rahu is in the nakshatra of Saturn who is a tough taskmaster and Saturn has just finished transit through a house with only one bindu in ashatakarvarga. Saturns moolatrikona sign is the 4th house of mother and emotional happiness. Rahu himself has just finished his transit over the natural 4th house of the zodiac in the 12th house from the natal Moon and 9th house of father. You are going into Rahu/ Moon who are in 2/12 aspect which can be tough although good for spiritual growth. Rahu is in the nakshatra of Saturn, lord of the 3rd house of mental outlook and 4th house of emotional happiness and Moon is in the nakshatra of Sun the 10th lord and depositor of lagna lord Mars. Both Sun and Mercury are in the 2nd house from lagna and fifth house of children from the Moon. By transit, transit Mars is in natal Rahus house in the 12th house from natal Moon, he is in the Moons house and is in bad aspect to both natal Saturn and transit Saturn. Mars is in hard, sharp aspect to 7th lord of partner Venus and Rahu is moving into trine to natal Venus. Venus is also neecha. Be aware of these aspects and don't start fights with your partner at this time. Now I remember you told me before I went to Thailand you had a problem with your partners child didn't you. Mercury is the lord of the 5th house of children from the 7th house of partner. Mercury is enemy to your lagna lord Mars and the lord of two bad houses in the 8th and 11th. It is amazing how many women who write to me who have their Mars in Leo. My Venus is in Pisces getting an 8th house aspect from their Mars. My Moon is also in Leo with your Moon Marcia, and your Sun is trine to my Moon. Your Jupiter falls in my lagna in the 7th house from my Moon as I was born in Aquarius. All the other planets are the same as we are born in the same year. In our navamsha charts your Sun, Venus and Mars fall in my navamsha lagna and your Moon falls on my Venus in the 7th house from my Moon. In my navamsha, Jupiter is in Scorpio your Rashi lagna and your navamsha lagna falls in Pisces where my Sun and Venus fall in the Rashi chart. In the navamsha also, my Mars squares your Venus. Interestingly your Venus is also in exact trine to my lagna cusp in my 9th house of overseas. Is it any wonder you emailed me about your chart. What I am trying to show you is the power of the magnetic attraction of the planets. Although I am half way across the world from you, we have somehow stumbled across each others path with a mutual liking for astrology. Your 7th lord of partners friends, lovers etc, Venus, is in your 12th house of foreigners in the natural 7th house of the zodiac Libra, his own sign. You are meant to have a foreign born husband because Jupiter the karaka of husband is in the nakshatra of Rahu who represents foreigners and Rahu is placed in the 12th house from the Moon also. Jupiter is also in the 7th house from the Moon and the depositor is Saturn located once again in the 12th house here. In the navamsha Rahu is in the 7th house again. In your Rahu dasha you will be married or live with a foreign born male. That is certain. You chart is overall very good, you are strong, independent and somewhat spirititual as Saturn is with Ketu in the 3rd house of mental outlook in the 10th sign of the zodiac. Do not look at anything in isolation. Every aspect, even the bad ones have strength at times to do us good. For example Mars, Moon and Uranus could make you somewhat unusual, bad tempered, changable and aggressive in your thinking. It can also make your mind powerful, inventive and goal orientated with strong creativity and original ideas. The good or bad effects usually depend on the situation we find ourselves in from day to day. Find me somebody whose life has been smooth in every aspect and I will have them stuffed and mounted. My Pundit just called to say what a shithouse astrologer I am as we had an earthquake here in Victoria last night that was 4.5 on the richter scale and I didn't predict it. I did say something would happen though, I also see some Volcano erupted also. Mars opposition Uranus at exactly 24 Degrees. Uranus in is the nakshatra of Mars. Worth noting I would have thought. Also note Mercury is in my 7th house of the public in full aspect to my natal Jupiter, Mercury and Mars. Maybe this is why I am writing many postings. I hope this helps somebody in their studies. You have to come up the hard way, thats all. I see easy horoscopes all the time with the children of rich people from Hong Kong and Thailand. They are spoilt, useless, materialistic, selfish and would perish under the slightest adversity. Hardship is good as it builds strength of character. >Although Ketu is birth yogi it is with Saturn who is enemy of both the lagna > >lord and the Moon. This Moon as 9th lord with such a strong Mars shows a hot head and somebody who would be tough on women in general. Mars can make a person somewhat generous all the same. John McEnroe and Madonna are two good examples of a Mars/Moon conjunction. Winning and success is everything and they do what it takes to get what they want. > >This Rahu may have caused some problems with the parents because it is in > >the natural house of the mother and also in the home of the 9th lord of > >father. Look, Saturn in your 3rd house of mental outlook in bad aspect to Venus the 7th lord and karaka of relationships makes you somewhat negative about marriage. This would be because of observing the marriage of your Mother. Mars, Moon and Uranus makes you volatile, changable and restless. The 7th lord of marriage is afflicted in the 12th house of loss, so this is not a fortunate position for long lasting relationships. > >Now I remember you told me before I went to Thailand you had a problem with > >your partners child didn't you. She was bloody hopeless and I got the distinct impression she had never had any relationships herself as she was just talking bullshit. The people who paid their money left more confused than before they came in. My conclusions are mainly based on experience rather than what is in astrology cookbooks. Certain aspects such as a womans Mars aspecting a mans Saturn can cause tremendous attraction at first but in the long run this can turn to hatred and even violence. Mars and Sun can be the same with early passion burning out and turning nasty. Nothing can be taken in total isolation. Jupiter in good aspect to the partners Moon is important as is Jupiter to Venus. Moons should be also in good aspect. Every planet is important to look at in regards to its meaning in a chart. Mars is the destroyer of marriage. A strong Mars makes a person very sexual and passionate. This can manifest as impatience and anger. This is the basis for Kuja dosha and a strong Mars should be balanced by a strong Mars in the partners chart. Saturn can destroy a marriage with slow disillusionment about the partner. Mars can cause violence, Saturn depression and coldness. Alternatively when well placed Mars causes great passion and Saturn gives strong commitment. As for the nodes, who really knows what their karma is......... > > >What I am trying to show you is the power of the magnetic attraction of the > >planets. I'll change this to you'll have a relationship with a foreigner in this Rahu period. I was not looking at Saturn in transit in your 7th house. This is why we must look slowely and carefully at a chart. My Mars in the lagna with 5th and 8th lord Mecury makes me too quick to make conclusions. This is astrology though, with a different perspective seen with each look at a chart. That is why it is very important to have these discusions even if they get a bit personal. This is how we learn. > >You chart is overall very good, you are strong, independent and somewhat > >spirititual as Saturn is with Ketu in the 3rd house of mental outlook in the > >10th sign of the zodiac. Guest guest
Dear Andrew thanks for the interesting discussion and feedback. i have to say that i started feeling a bit on the defensive, like i am not all spit and fire!! i am a clinical social worker and have worked with emotionally disturbed kids for the past 8 years....and start to cry when i see a bee caught in my windshield wipers with half its body torn off. go figure. as far as relationships go , i think that whatever one's particular karma is, that will bring them what they need to work on in this lifetime. a hard lesson to hear and learn; i keep waiting for prince charming but that white horse just isn't appearing. must be that venus/neptune conjuction is libra. when is your mars dasa ? take care, Marcia @}-------->--------------

Guest guest
Vim and vinegar (spit and fire) is good Marcia...its your connection to your spirituality...don't ever loose it. Its only societies preconcieved notions of what should and shouldn't be 'feminine' desirable qualities. And we should NEVER 'should' on anyone. Andrew probably never meant to trigger your defenses. Its our own internal frame of reference that makes us hear something we 'think' someone said...you know, the mind chatter. Andrew is actually a VERY good reader. Guest guest
Hi, could you please tell me what software you are using? I created your chart using Junior Jyotish and your Navamsha came out with Taurus rising. Is Junior Jyotish wrong? I created my charts with it also, and I did notice that all of my degrees were different than a chart I received off of a website recently. How then would you know which is the right one, and do you happen to know why they are differing? Thanks for any info, Angie
Guest guest
Dear Skinbags I think there are two sides to you as symbolised by the Purvabhadrapada nakshatra you were born under( symbolised by the two faced man) . One is a good heart indicated by the exaltation of 9th Lord in 2nd indicating a good eagerness to establish empathy with others . The darker side is the close proximity of 3rd Lords of initiatives with the 8th ruler Mercury in the 1st. This could give you quite provocative speech . Moon in magha would also give you quite a regal disposition which often leads to others wanting to knock you off your high perch . All in all you seem to be quite an exciting character your friends probably never have a dull moment . Best Wishes Nicholas

Guest guest
Dear Andrew No worries about the analysis. I know that you meant no harm. I think i was feeling a need for some balance. I was looking at your chart and had some observations, and questions for you. regarding transits: 1.) Pluto is currently making a trinal aspect to your venus. I am wondering if this is fueling some of your desire nature. 2.)Saturn is making a full aspect to your moon and if you use western calculations is t-squaring the opposition between the moon and the mercury-jupiter-mars stellium in the first. transiting through the fourth would be difficult i imagine, in additon to the aspect to the moon. this would place a lot of emphasis in these areas of your life...the 1 and 7 houses, making relationships (or lack there of) a priority right now. 3.) Uranus is making an exact conjuction with the nodal axis. I dont know the manifestations of this dynamic, just thought it was an interesting conjuction. do you have any thoughts of its possible effects? also, i was wondering about the planetary war between mercury-jupiter-mars. who is winning this planetary war? i dont know why but i am guessing mars?? and how is this experienced in your life? one more question - i also have the saturn/ketu conjunction (altho mine is in the 3rd) and was told that ketu amplifies the energy of a planet in its own house. for me this results in negative mental outlook , glass half empty , etc. How does this energy manifest for you in the 12th? does it impact the appearance, or health, as it is 12 from 1? anyway, just some thoughts. take care of yourself. marcia @}-------->--------------

Pluto is currently making a trinal aspect to your venus. I am > wondering if this is fueling some of your desire nature. Pluto appears to be a planet of extreme intensity. I am familiar with the western concept of the effects of Pluto and I agree with the notion of transformation relating to this planet. Mars in hard aspect to Pluto seems to create an intense sexual nature as in my own chart. Pluto seems to intensify the effects of a planet it is in aspect to. My own Pundit says he considers Pluto in trine to Sun to be an aspect for very strong health. It is interesting to observe the effects of the outer planets, especially in aspect to the lights or other personal planets. I am sure this Pluto in trine to Venus is at work at present. Good observation > 2.)Saturn is making a full aspect to your moon and if you use western > calculations is t-squaring the opposition between the moon and the > mercury-jupiter-mars stellium in the first. transiting through the fourth > would be difficult i imagine, in additon to the aspect to the moon. this > would place a lot of emphasis in these areas of your life...the 1 and 7 > houses, making relationships (or lack there of) a priority right now. Another fair point, I am always extremely restless as it is. Last year was worse as Saturn was in his sign of debilitation. This year I feel as if I am coming out of a long hybernation. The Moon dasha has been a time of deep thinking and intense feelings. Perhaps it is time to put my thoughts and ideas in a forum such as this. I am a keen observer of human nature. > 3.) Uranus is making an exact conjuction with the nodal axis. I dont know > the manifestations of this dynamic, just thought it was an interesting > conjuction. do you have any thoughts of its possible effects? > Who really knows the true effects of the nodes. Uranus is a disruptive force but also a planet of profound thinking. Many astrologers have a well placed Uranus. My Moon is hemmed between Uranus and Pluto in the 7th house in opposition to Mars. I am a bit of an Aleister Crowley thats for sure. The two faced man is a good analogy for me. Half saint, half sinner. I am ridiculously benevolent in some ways but in others I like to walk on the wild and seamy side indulging in forbidden fruits. > also, i was wondering about the planetary war between > mercury-jupiter-mars. who is winning this planetary war? i dont know why > but i am guessing mars?? and how is this experienced in your life? > one more question - i also have the saturn/ketu conjunction (altho mine is > in the 3rd) and was told that ketu amplifies the energy of a planet in its > own house. for me this results in negative mental outlook , glass half > empty , etc. How does this energy manifest for you in the 12th? does it > impact the appearance, or health, as it is 12 from 1? > Mars is navamsha lagna lord in the 10th house with birth yogi Rahu. Jupiter is in the nakshatra of Mars. Mars is by far the strongest influence on me. I am very fair with red hair and freckles. Mars make me firey, aggressive, bad tempered and I swear a lot. Mars /Mercury causes this but also makes me a fair sportsman with good timing. Jupiter in good aspect to Mars always makes a good sportsman you will find also. Jupiter in the lagna is a real blessing and shows the grace of God. If I was a cat I would have used up my nine lives already, so this Jupiter in the lagna is good for me. This Saturn/Ketu in the 12th has been good and bad. Much pleasure of the bedroom in foreign countries and many foreign friends and lovers. My left eye was injured in a fight years ago as shown by this and Mars aspect on the Moon. Psychologically it is bad and makes me lack confidence in myself and causes me to get down and depressed. I am my own worst enemy and think others are better or smarter and I am. I think it also gives me a strong interest in enlightenment and spiritual gurus. It also makes me a secret sinner who gets up to a bit of scullduggery when I am on my own. My Moon is a bad planet for me as 6th lord of health in the 7th house. I have weak lungs and a sensitive stomach. I am the two faced man for sure, as in some ways I may appear arrogant and aggressive, especially towards women. My Sun and Venus in Pisces show I am really extremely sensitive on the inside and in private. Saturn as lagna lord makes me interseted in old philosophies and Ayurveda which is the Science of longevity. It also makes me pessimistic and too negative at times. It is said that Ketu in a sign with the lord of that sign will make you master of the things that sign and house represent. As the 12th house is the house of foreigners and also the bedroom it is true in my case. I fancy myself in the old bedroom aerobics for sure. I also practice tantric type techniques and use Ayurvedic herbs to make me sexually strong. My mind seems to feed off and be powered by this energy also. The 12th house is 12th house of loss to the lagna and represents energy lost in the bedroom. Sleep and sex are both moksha activities as the self is lost in both of these activities. I also love sleeping. It is my hobby. As I tell people, idleness is my job and sleeping is my hobby. I am basically a misfit............. regards Skinbags > a some thoughts. > take care of yourself. > marcia > > > > > > @}-------->-------------- > > > > > > > > gjlist- > > >

Guest guest
Dear Mu Min Bey, Are you a boy or a girl? This is an unusual name. I went back through my email box and saw you had asked for some points on your chart. What is it that concerns you? You have lagna lord in the 10th house in exact conjunction with Uranus and with Mars and Ketu who both have dig bala. This should make you a decent astrologer. Venus in the lagna makes you kind and its depositor Jupiter is in the sign of service and in the 6th house of service from the Moon. Your Moon is in a fiery sign in trine to Venus in the lagna. Venus is somewhat afflicted as is the 7th lord Mercury. I'm not sure what you want to know about your chart. Skinbags
Guest guest
Hi Andy, I'm a Male, and my Name is Islamic in Origin; Mu'Min means, "Believer", and Bey means, "Protector of the House". As for the points on my chart, I was curiours to know how you would tackle mine, especially in regards to the Nakshatras. Thanks for the comments you did give, and if you are so inclined, you may comment further; i'm always looking to learn something new. As for my own chart specifics, well, I would like to marry with the next year to two years, as well as get a new home (my first house, Inshallah), and I would like to get my career as a Pro Astrologer in gear. I also have an interest in independent business....several years ago, I met a very nice man, who is also a Jyotishi, who said that I would always make more money working for myself than I ever would working for someone else; while he didn't lay out exactly why he said this, I'm banking on the fact that I have a rather strong Rahu...so yeah, I've really had it with the Amercia Rat Race, you know, the day-to-day grind...I want to do what I love to do, which is to serve others thru Astrology, and I'd like to do some other things, along business lines...I plan to go to India next year, Inshallah, and while there, I was going to look into some import/export options, I think I may have some success there, as I have very strong International ties in my chart. At any rate, I'll be most happy with whatever you, or anyone else, has to say about these concerns. Thanks for the time, and I'll await your response.
