Guest guest
Dear Sarva, There are two tipes of Kala Sarpa Yoga. When all planets are between Ketu and Rahu is called Kalam Rita Yoga (when Ketu is in the 1,2,3,4,5 or 6th house and Rahu is in the 7,8,9,10,11, or 12th house) and it is less malefic than Kala Sarpa Yoga (all planets are on the other side of the axis). I have Kalam Rita Yoga in my chart. Here is my chart's info as an example: Rahu - 11th house Mars - 11th Sun - 12th Jupiter - 1st Venus - 1st Mercury -1st Saturn - 1st Moon - 2nd Ketu - 5th I have Mars with Rahu in 11th. This must be less malefic when any planet is together with Rahu or Ketu, or outside the axis. Do you have KSY in your chart too? Also I would be very interested to know someone's comments about this yoga and your question :"Are there any other configurations which modify this yoga?" too. Thanks and Best Wishes! Guest guest
Dear list members, I have a question about my case of KSY. Ketu/Rahu axis 11th-5th. What life events can happen because of it? And also are the good or bad houses for Rahu and Ketu? Thanks in advance, Ventra.
Guest guest
Dear Ventra and all, I have been in the background since joining this list 2 months ago. However, this really involves me and I need to speak up. I also have the Kalam Sarpa Yoga. All between 1 &7 Mars and Rahu in the 7th. I has given me the most voilent marraige. I was kept captive and used to have to choose how I was going to die..sort of stuff. That is a loong time ago. My teacher used to say that rahu takes on the personality of whoever it is with. Mars Rahu in the 7th is an unmarriagable chart. Details if anyone is interested is Myra (f) 5th September 1954 Dalby Queensland Australia. 26.11E 150.26S. So good for my soul to read all these discussions. I'll learn to speak up more. But do realize that I appreciate this list greatly. thanks Myra - "ventra" <ventra <gjlist > Wednesday, August 09, 2000 5:35 AM Re: [gjlist] kala sarpa yoga > Dear Sarva, > > There are two tipes of Kala Sarpa Yoga. Guest guest
Dear Costa/List members, You are right. However, if one ignores yogas, one tends to lose a complete pattern of a chart. For example,if you see moon/mercury in 6/12 houses, you wouldn't notice their involvement in Saraswati Yoga, under the certain drekkana a moon is placed in. Or combined effects of malefics in 4.8 houses, mixed in 5th while benefics in lagna/9th forming Matsya Yoga and giving a jyotishi etc. So first things first. One should look at inherent strenght of planets/houses, while adding the effects of the present Yogas. So, KalSarpa Yog is very important since it has produced negative impact on most of the charts, unless strong antidotes.. KSY tends to produce obstacles up to a middle age of 45(generally). All grahas positioned between rahu and ketu is known as kalsarp yoga while from ketu to rahu kalmritam yog. The kalsarpa yog can be conducive to spiritual life(ketu on the lead) if the rest of the chart supports, while kalmritam yog to materialism. Chandra and guru involvement can break the yoga easily. Of course many other things will infulence the chart. What you say about Ketu is true. However, ketu gives moksha under very specific conditions in the chart. It has to be in the 4/12 houses from atmakaraka navamsa under the benefic dristi or in 12th house in mesh./dhanu dristied by benefic. Otherwise ketu is very harmful in 12/8 houses. The better position for ketu would be in Arudha Lagna, where it will aid spiritual attitude or in 10th house where it acts as mokshakarak. As far as Myra's chart is concerned, apart from chandra/guru which in conjunction tend to break the yoga mars is caught by rahu(lagnesh) thus giving terrible experiences in marriage(eclipse). The more profound effect of the yoga will be seen in two things: 1. This is a terrible carmic experience stressing the self and marriage most 2. Up to 45 she will have obstacles in relationships/marriage These are additional hints of the yoga, apart from usual affliction given by rahu/mars. Best wishes, Zoran costa wrote: > Dear Ventra > do not get side tracked by KSY but evaluate the chart accoerding to the > normal rules .Yogas are there to jog the memory but they do not over ride > the nature of the chart .3,10 and 11 are better house for Rahu and Ketu(I > do not go so far as to say these are beneficial) .For someone seeking > moksha Ketu in 8th or 12th can be helpful .Rahu drank the nectar of > immortality but Ketu was killed by Lord Vishnu and therefore achieved > moksha .In this way Ketu has a mokshaic compatibility with 8th and 12th > houses . > Hope this helps > Nicholas > ---------- > ventra <ventra > gjlist > Re: [gjlist] kala sarpa yoga > Tuesday, 8 August 2000 14:52 > > Dear list members, > > I have a question about my case of KSY. Guest guest
Dear Manoj, >>>can you quote any classic which says or mentions about Kal Sarpa Yoga. Manoj<<< In Light on Life, by Hart Defouw and Robert Svoboda, on page 303, they state: "Kala Sarpa Yoga, which is note mentioned in any classical work on Jyotish, is probably Tantric in origin, given the Tantric fascination with shadows, with time (Kala means both 'black' and 'time', and here refers to Ketu) and serpents (sarpa, which here refers to Rahu), with the occult (which the nodes rule), and with demonic beings (which they are)." Also, this goes on to say: "Kala Sarpa Yoga is described in Dravidian (South Indian) treatises, but even here there is no consensus as to its effect." They give a very clear explanation of Kala Sarpa Yoga and go on in detail. All kind regards, Patrice
Guest guest
Dear List Members I ignore kala sarpa yoga .Myra's problems can be explainrd by the weakness of the 7th Lord Jupiter being in the last degree and the presence of two malefics in the 7th Mars and Rahu that allows marriage to a weird, violent person .This is much easier to see and is replicable . All yogas have to be evaluated in the context of the chart . Hope this helps Nicholas ---------- Cuddihy Myra <myra88 gjlist Re: [gjlist] kala sarpa yoga Tuesday, 8 August 2000 16:02 Dear Ventra and all, I have been in the background since joining this list 2 months ago. Guest guest
(Kala means both 'black' and 'time', and here refers to > >Ketu) and serpents (sarpa, which here refers to Rahu) Dear Patrice, Kala which you mention here means only time. It is Kal not Kala. And Kal is Samay or better still the wheel of time. Therefore dont confuse this with Kala (black). If you know hindi or sanskrit, it would be easy to follow. And astrologically, Saturn is Kal or Time. When none of the classics have any mention about this yoga, they why do we un-necessary stress upon such combinations. Of course you have to have a Rahu in the Chart and a Ketu in the Chart. They may be placed in any of the houses, diametrically opposite to each other and are there only to dispense destiny as destined by HIM. So please dont worry about them too much. Analyse this yoga also as per placement of Rahu and Ketu and not as Kal Sarpa Yoga. regards, Manoj ______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
Guest guest
Dear Manoj, Glad to hear from you again. As you I suppose know, there aret many things unsaid in the classics, which are practicable in jyotisha. The other thing is that much of jyotisha literature is not translated in english. In my confined knowledge of jyotisha litrature, such yog was not mentioned in the main classics, but so are not many important points in jyotisha. What to say about major inconsistances found in classic jyotisha texts?! Guest guest
Dear Manoj, Thanks for your note. As a beginner here, I'm learning in leaps and bounds from all on the list and studying away at the books. My response was something I had just read again, and hoped it might answer your question somewhat. I find Light On Life to be really great for my level of learning, and I enjoy their writing. Kala means both 'black' and 'time', and here refers to > >Ketu) and serpents (sarpa, which here refers to Rahu) In the quote above, I am just quoting what they have written in hopes to help answer your question about which classics this material may be found in. I appreciate your clarifying meanings. In this book, they too state the importance of analysing the chart by placement, but also teach the yogas. They often express the importance of a Guru in learning Jyotish throughout their book, who is able to clarify things as they come up, and quote their Guru often. Thanks Manoj, and best regards, Patrice
Guest guest
Dear Sarva and list, Namaste. Sarva, thanks for sharing your daughter's chart. She does have a Hamsa Yoga, and also her Sun and Venus are both positioned in exaltation. In this chart, would the Moon qualify as the 'final dispositor' with this Hamsa Yoga Jupiter placed there, and Lord of the sixth house with Venus, Mercury and Mars? Ketu in Aquarius (ruled by Saturn), with Saturn and Rahu in Leo. Sun being in Aries, Lord is Mars in Pisces. Jupiter is final Lord of all these planets, then, correct? And then Jupiter itself, placed with the Moon in his own sign, Cancer. Does this make Moon final dispositor? All best regards, Patrice
