Dear Sarva

<<Dear Natabara,

Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't Rahu in Cancer until the end of

August???

Sarva>>

Mistakes can be made easily and I have checked my calendar and the American

Ephemeris and i am glad to say that i found the problem.

There are two Rahu, the mean and the true. It seems that you are following

the "true" Rahu or north node because acording to the American Ephemeris it

goes into Gemini at the end of August. I follow the "mean" Rahu which went

into Gemini according to my software, on July 30 at 15:15 GMT. Parasara says

that Rahu is always vakra (Sanskrit for retrograde. The mean Rahu is always

vakra at a constant motion, while the true Rahu has a forward and retrograde

motion.

If we have a debate about which one is the best ayanamsa, we can say Lahiri's

is the best. As Vaisnavas, we have a lot of respect for Bhaktisidhanta

Sarasvati and he used Lahiri's ayanamsa. We could have a debate about which

Rahu to follow, either the true or the mean and i understand from the BPH

that Rahu is always vakra.

I hope that this helps to clarify the position of Rahu.

Yours, Natabara Das

Which is better true or mean nodes?Sutton,DeFouw,Hathaway vote for mean.Houck

uses both true and mean.KN Rao,Braha,Kelleher use true.Which do you do and

why.I lean to the mean, but have seen the true prove true in rectification.

please use only True Rahu.

and you would notice that true Rahu does for a day or two in a month becomes

direct. that could be an important indicating in predictions.

Dear Dave

I found true works better in my own chart . True is also used by Professor

V.K.Choudhry .

How does Houck use both ? Must be a great thinker since one is only

considered a great thinker if he comes up with his own idea .

Regards

Nicholas
