Guest guest
Dear Shamim Hello, 30 charts in your collection showing the same combination for diabetes is quite relevant. I do not know if any astrological organization, club or individual has being doing something similar. Some practicioners of western may have done something similar but we require the vedic approach and it will be nice to see a serious (not Sirius like some people often misunderstand my accent) research about diabetis. I had an uncle (he died of diabetis) but he never found his date of birth and I remember a lady with Venus in the 8th house telling me that although she does not have problems with sugar yet, her grand-mother had it. What you have in data is very important and I advise you to get in touch with other people with similar data and start a serious research. If modern science finally got this year the compilation of human DNA, I am sure that the knowledge of vedic astrology can share something similar. Sweet, another member of the list mention another combination regarding Mercury in Sagittarius for diabetis. Let me extend the quotation: In Healing Through Gems by N.N. Saha, (published in 1977), we read a combination for diabetis; Stellar patterns: Jupiter governs the liver. He is responsible for the production of bile which is necessary for proper digestion of food-intake. Proper function of the liver is essential for burning up its intake of sugar, starches and carbohydrates. Jupiter when afflicted in Libra or scorpio by malefics gives rise to this trouble. The 7th house of the zodiac, i.e., Libra controls our kidneys. The kidneys produce insuline in the system. Any deficiency of insuline in the body causes diabetis. Gem theraphy: Use white coral in 9 rattis and yellow sapphire in 5 rattis, on madhyama and anamika respectively" In Medical Astrology by J.N. Bhasin, (1986), page 99 we read "diabetes is generally accompanied by a diseased liver and frequent urination. Jupiter is sugar and controls it. Venus is urinary system. Both Jupiter and Venus when under the 'separative' influence of such factors as the Sun, Saturn and Rahu cause this princely disease" For 'separative', the author means the aspects from the planets. So, here we have Jupiter or we could say Sagittarius and according to Rhoda, Mercury in Sagittarius shows diabetis in 3 cases. Here I have a question to Rhoda, Could you tell us if the 3 mentioned cases have Mercury in the constellation of Venus? And If Mercury rules either 6th, 8th or 12th houses? Mr N.N. Saha mentions Jupiter afflicted either in Libra or Scorpio, the signs of Venus and Mars. Shamim mentions Venus as the star lord and the 8th house. Rhoda mentions Jupiter and Mercury. Sanjay mentions that sugar is ruled by Jupiter. J.N. Bhasin mentions Jupiter and Venus. So, we have Jupiter mentioned four times, Venus is mentioned three, and Mercury, Mars and the 8th house mentioned once. I am sure that by using the GJ attributes we can find some interesting patterns but to satisfy the scientific community, it is necessary some serious approach. We as vedic astrologers feel that yes, here there is something very interesting and important, which perhaps can help people but we need to build a proper project for not only diabetes but for more diseases. The beauty of a list like this is that we can get hold of the data, feed it with more cases, analyze it, discuse about it and then convince others. Some among us are experts in medical astrology or in analizing data, or just observers giving ideas. But just think ahead, if western astrologers have being building data for years, now our turn is coming and our responsibility is greater because we have more tools than them (periods, yogas etc.). Everyone can contribute with a brick to build up a sound image of vedic astrology. We have computers, internet facilities, a very good programer (Das), a good programe (GJ). Let's do something. Back in 1978, I remember when I took 6 hours to calculate the graha & bhava balas of a single horoscope, with the help of a pocket calculator. In our days, it takes 1 second. The good thing about it was that I went deep into the mysteries of the calculations, the bad thing is that I went mad. I am browsing Culpepers's Complete Herbal and it recommends for diabetes: Bistort (polygonum Bistorta), it belongs to Saturn. Thyme (thymus Serpyllum), it is under Venus. Yarrow (Achillaea Millefolium), it is under the influence of Venus. Venus again, and this time from the master Nicholas Culpeper (1616-1654). Thank you very much to all of you for listening and especial thanks to those members of the list that have send me nice, warm and encouraging emails, addressing through the list or in private. I am just sharing some of my thoughts with you. Yours, Natabara Das
Guest guest
shukra represents sweetness in life (sharkara in life!) and some years ago someone who dabbles in newage and all kinds of healing techniques mentioned that in her study of diabetics she found that they tended to move away from sweetness in life, were stressed and felt guilty when relaxing (compulsive workers). It was as if their body was making a protest to this kind of mental attitude by shunning sugar which lay pooled out in the blood but not available to the cells. Would be nice to be able to identify a chart with diabetes before the lab-test though ;-) the savings in terms of money productivity and life by this alone would be able to justify the significance of astrology. It is such a common disease.
