You are probably aware, that in Parasari, as well as Jaimini Jyotish (both one and the same anyway) Rasis, or signs aspect, in the same way that grahas, or planets do. All moveable signs aspect fixed ones (and planets in them), and all dual signs aspect other dual signs (and planets in them). So in your example above, for Virgo rising, if Saturn and Mars join in the second house (Libra), they will be aspected by the sign Taurus (9th house) and any planets in it. Jupiter, being inclined to Sattva guna, as well as the 9th house itself, both thus aspect Saturn/Mars in your chart. Thus during the Saturn dasa -- due to combined aspects from the 9th house and Jupiter (by Rasi aspects), you are able to rise to the level of Sattva guna in habits and lifestyle. Conversely, during the Jupiter dasa, the planets and sign aspecting Jupiter most strongly, are the 2nd house + Saturn/Mars. So, during Jupiter's dasas, Rajasic and Tamasic effects predominate. Mercury's Mahadasha should similarly be positive for your continuing the Sattvic consciousness, as Mercury joining Venus for a Virgo ascendant, form a powerful Laksmi yoga. Laksmi, the consort of Lord Vishnu, will help you stay on the path of purity and devotion. Further, Mercury gets the graha drishti of Jupiter, which should support your advancement in astrology as well as spirituality. Note that both Mercury and Venus are in the 2nd house from Saturn/Mars, who thus get "Argala", or intervention from the former two, and thus Mercury/Venus also help to give Sattvic effects during the dasa of Saturn. Guest guest
Dear Robert Koch: It seems that you were the only one who has answered my posting and the only one who really knew what he was talking about. I really appreciate your response. What you said really makes sense now and I understand a lot more that I did before. Thanks again. God bless you. Shamim >>> "Robert A.
