When I have worked with young eastern european guys, they had power but not the long lasting burn. Sometimes we are required to work over 24 hours into 48 hours with little rest. Vegetarians can do this much easier. especially if you have been on tour with Amma and shes given you a little no sleep siddhi! (just kidding, but maybe not!) And I also agree that meat eaters are more, not less, likely to get cancer. Especially heavy meat eaters, unless they are leading very physically active lives. All that uric acid in the blood. Guest guest
Actually not all nutritionists say this. In fact some say the exact opposite. Some doctors who have had great success in treating illness require a no grain/starchy carb diet. The whole gamut is there. But eating less is definitely a good thing, regardless of the food. One has to keep in mind that diet for extreme health, diet for extreme fitness, or diet for extreme sadhana are all different goals and don't necessarily go hand in hand. That being said, I think one can achieve a high level of each with one common diet. - amarnath Ammachi Friday, May 12, 2006 10:32 PM Re: health and meat eating Ammachi, Max Dashu <maxdashu> wrote: > > >My intuition is that with food, less is better. > > Definitely. > > And I also agree that meat eaters are more, not less, likely to get > cancer.
