Guest guest
Dear Members. I am sorry to ask you but, wish to know from great people here. Why do we have temple?,when god is every where like we have at our house a place of worship where we keep shiva ling,or photo of God. What is need to go to temple ?.Where pujari are looting people in name of god by offering this pooja or that?.Does there pooja have any effect on us.I believe that if we do self pooja is more than enough. Please forgive for asking this question. with best wishes kalyan
Guest guest
not a wrong idea... but to keep the unity in soceity, the temple was used... and the science already searching for the hidden truths of indian temple construction concept... that is divine. no doubt at all. in other hand, the formulaton of positive power in that place is more than any other place... in olden days, the temple circumstances was the place for the growth of arts, bhkthi and traditions. some time the temple beome as a place to be safe. in relegious way temple is more than a place of prayer. Results are still under search.... go and sit there. pray for the world and feel it... get out of your self and feel the free ness, nothing ness in you... this will not possible in any other place,.. and about the looting priest... why you give.. why you dont start helping the poor society instead of feeding these culprits... they are already getting salaries. in olden days these poojari's did these rituals as prayer as their duty. now they do this as work for getting the salary... ok u can do this as a bhiksha if he is poor. take care... kalyansimha <kalyansimha (AT) (DOT) co.in> wrote: Dear Members. Guest guest
namaskaram to all the beauty of Hinduism is that it is not asking any one to go to the temple or do pooja or anything like that. one is absolutely free to act according to ones' FREE WILL so shri kalyansimha need no feelings of hurt or guilt or any such things for either going or not going to temple. But then we also need to know ourselves and everything around us. how do we get to know that? if temples were not there, if "looting " pujaries were not there, how would we have come to know of this? more than all that, it help us to understand " I " in relation to everything around us and that help us to understand ourselves. If a poojary is looting, we allow him to loot us...he is not holding us by our neck and loot. we are free to ignore him...but then may be we are afraid ...that if he curse us what we will do??? see the ignorance... we go to the temple to pray the LORD and we are afraid of a creature like us...just because of his "proximity " to the LORD !!!!!! this is the problem...what we need is to uncover our ignorance and for that besides GURU the next best thing is to have company of good people and temple used to be one such location where good people meet. namaskaram kalyansimha <kalyansimha (AT) (DOT) co.in> wrote: Dear Members. Guest guest
My guru, Mata Amritanandamayi, gives great simple answers to questions like these. Her answer (paraphrased and then expanded in my words): This question is the same as asking "why sit under a tree to feel the cool effects of air when the wind is blowing everywhere?" It's because the tree has special properties to filter out the heat from the atmosphere and let the coolness of the wind freshen us up. Likewise, in a temple, we get an automatic discipline to still our wandering winds and allow us to pray with a still mind and heart. Small additions of these prayers will do wonders to our equipoise over a period of time.... of course you can always supplement or totaaly replace this with acts like meditation but there is no need to belittle temple worship as it serves as an important social support system and often as an individual support system too. Regarding the pujari looting, I am sorry to hear that. That has not been my experience. Most pujaris are householders like you and me and are earning for a living by being a pujari, but many I have seen are simple spiritual people who do their job well and are amazingly full of grace. And mostly the money you give goes for pujas (meaning the temple management), not the salaried pujaris. The money to pujaris on their plate is a voluntary dakshina (that is more like how you would tip a waiter for good service). Puja costs are mostly justified according to the materials used, but do make it a point to do research and see if you think that the temples puja costs are exorbitant or not. Pujas do help, but the help is somewhat subjective in nature. Pujas are like sunlight; if you live in a cave and don't come out you will not see the light. Pujas help, but some effort is required on your part to keep the proper attitude about them to help you optimally. Hope this helps! Jai Ma! " on the web. Terms of Service.
