Guest guest
This is caused by somesort of obstruction in the billiary ducts. Chronic liver disease or gallbladder blockage. If there is yellow in the eyes, skin, or palms of the hands - this is severe blockage and needs immediate correction. If possible do antibody tests to HAV, HBV, and HCV if this is positive then this is the clear problem and the patient must be treated for chronic liver disease. If the problem is in the Gallbladder and or Ghranni then stone reducing therapies must be used. The patient should recieve treatment for inflamitory processes. Liver protecting diet must be followed - low fat and low spices - a general Pitta reducing diet. Since it is probably the Ama that is the immediate culprit in causing the blockages then the fluids must be thinned - this alone allows the stones (or what ever is causing the problem) to start flowing normally and be eliminated opening the portal vein. This can be a dangerous condition and is a common cause of death in those with chronic billiary blockages. ayurveda, "sav3s" <sav3s wrote: > > Experts pls comment on this > > Patient 22 female ---diagnosd as portal vein obstruction > > Says blood flow towards liver. > > Pain inthe ribside, lac of apettites, >

Guest guest
In ayurveda, it is not necessary that the disease shuld have known name, or there be some documentation somewhere. when such a situation is encountered, a pulse diagnosis trained vaidya can accept this challenge. he is trained to judge the dosha unbalance, and he knows that as dosha unbalance is reduced, immune system itself will take care of health... or normal regeneration of cells in the body will take care of herniation etc Perhaps an example would illustrate this. A 21 year old woman (weight 38 kg) was suffering from vomitting for two years. Various scans, scopies had not reveal anything specific. Antacid tablets had stopped acting and other than fruit juices everything was getting thrown off. High acid secretion in the stomach was caused by continuous administration of antacids, body having developed tolerance for them. Some ayurvedic treatment was also taken based on the diagnostic reports, but could not offer lasting solution. When this woman came to this author, the pulse was showing high Vata and followed by pitta vitiation. Lifestyle revealed the habit of watching TV upto late night, till husband returned from work. This had accentuated the disease. She was told to sleep early and not eat late at night. First thing that she was taught is to do intentional vomit early morning, with a bitter herbal tea to empty the stomach of accumulated acid. Next, breakfast of soaked dates/black grapes, followed by curd just 4-5 hours fermented, after adding a little candy sugar was administered. Fruits and Green Gram soup or Khitchri (after she started retaining a little) during lunch and dinner was food. The Cumeen seed, corainder seed and fennel seed Heem (the procedure can be found in archives by keyword 'Heem'), to gether with medicines such as Sutsekhar Ras, Chandrakala Ras, Shatpatradi churna was given thrice a day with sweetened buttermilk. Chillies, pickles, fermented food etc was avoided totally. After the pulse started showing reduced Pitta, she was given an 8 day liver detox programme described in archives. The residues of all antacid tablets taken in last two years came out through motions. Vata pulse became pacified now. Menstrual cycles too improved. In a span of 6 weeks, she started retaining other solid foods also, and today she finds it difficult to vomit even intentionally. She put up two killograms weight in three months thereafter. If people describe their disease in terms of some disease named by mainstream medicine, or after some doctor's name who named that disease..not the symptoms, age, lifestyle etc. how ayurvedist is expected to make correlation between disease defined by mainstream science and ayurveda... dosha state and symptoms are guidelines, but then person who poses querry does not describe dosha state. IF he cant judge dosha, at least history must be posted fully. How long a disease exists, earlier mainstream medication must also be described to help vaidya decide how much clean up is needed first. Secondly, ayurvedist must know where the root of the problem lies. he is not helped by knowing what is blocked or what is causing excess activity. Detailed age, body weight, height, lifestyle, food habits, etc may help the ayurvedists.
