Namaste Rajagopalan-ji, I have a question about your response above.

Since Vedas have been orally passed from one generation to another,

how is it that people in different parts of India use different

metres ? Isn't the metre itself somehow passed from Guru to shishya ?

I am not disputing your response but asking out of my own ignorance.

thanks,

Your answer is right there in your question. Since these are passed from Guru to Shishya, there will be differences with different lineages.

I did not say North Indian way is wrong.I said sri Pandey,a North Indian used to say like that--Seersha means= Head-I don't know what Seerkha meenas-Meaning of Purusha everybody knows-Purusha & Prakriti--But there should be some reason for the Sukhla Yajur Veda Maadyaanthika Zaakha Pandits(the brilliant and very elite persons) to recite that way . -Somayaji
