Namaste,

I have been using essential oils essentially by experimentation, limited

book learning and word of mouth for a while now, but recently I learned

about their use in Ayurveda. Could some one tell me a little bit about the

various types of essential oil and base oils to use for the doshas and the

methods of use. I have only used the oils by dropping about 5 drops into a

small glass dish of grapeseed base oil that I place over a candle (I don't

remember what this method is called or even whether I have been doing it

correctly-I mean, whether I can burn the essential oil in a base oil over

the candle or whether I should be using water. Or is the base old used for

massage only?)

My learning has been limited to those few Aromatherapy books that I have

purchased and what people have told me at the local stores where I have

purchased the oils. I would really appreciate gaining some real knowledge on

this topic.

Thank you very much.

Aishwarya
