8th. May 2006 - Monday

Swami came in the morning at 8.45 and sat for half an hour. In the evening, Swami came out at 3.45 and sat in the bhajans till 4.45 pm. Today’s bhajans were being sung by the Bal Vikas teachers from Bangalore. As soon as Swami sat, they offered a rose and a card about the Bhajan programme. After 10 bhajans Swami indicated for the boys to continue. One bhajan later Swami accepted Aarthi and returned to Trayee. Then Swami called us for a Trayee session. As He came in and sat in the jhoola room, Swami took a letter from a small primary school child (the same child who had asked for an opportunity to do padaseva in his letter two days back) and read it. He asked him “what are you studying? B.Sc…? M.Sc…?MBBS…?“ seeing his pan face Swami asked “what is your name?“

“Sai SriRam“?

“Then where is Sita?….in dandakaranyam ….? What is the meaning of dandakaranyam? “

Swami then asked a student “Why this castor oil face …smile…What do you want?“

“Swami Prem“. Swami was very happy and patted him on his cheek.

Then Swami asked Ashwath to speak. When he was narrating an incident where a small bird had to be fed and he did not know what to feed swami said “idli and sambar“(all laugh“) Swami then asked Ravi kumar Sir to speak. He asked him to narrate all his experiences from his young days. Swami guided the course of his speech by reminding him of the various experiences. It ended at 6.15pm and after aarathi Swami retired.

10th May 2006 - Wednesday,

In the morning, there was darshan and bhajans for half an hour.

In the evening Swami came to the hall at 4:00pm. As soon as He entered the hall, it began to pour cats and dogs. Swami sat for bhajans till 4:45pm and then receiving Aarthi, returned to Trayee in the Porte car. Swami called us into Trayee.

As Swami moved towards the jhoola, He noticed all the Parthi teachers in the central hall. When the Parthi warden sought Swami’s permission for all of them to go for the new admissions, Swami blessed them and permitted them. As Swami sat in the jhoola room, He collected letters from boys. Then noticing Dr.Ram Shetty, He spoke to him and introduced him to the students as a cardiologist.

Swami then asked Prof. Shyam Sundar as to when he had arrived. Swami introduced him to the students and said that He had saved him from a major accident. Prof. Sundar narrated how he had been travelling on a bike from Chandigarh to Simla.

Swami- How is your head?

Prof- Fine by your grace Swami.

S- How many stitches?

P- Swami even though the head split, no stitches were needed as it healed on its own.

S- Accident kyun hua?

P- Swami I was driving fast and a military truck rammed into me.

S- Never drive fast. Start early, drive slowly, reach safely….

P- Swami had given me an intuitive feeling that I would meet with an accident. But I had to carry a laminated photo of Swami for a conference.

S- Who was behind you on the bike?

P- Hoping that if I took someone with me, their good luck would save me, I stopped at the bus stop. But all preferred to go by the bus…

S- Koi girl nahi aaya?

P- No Swami.

S- Lekin tum try kiya?

P-Yes Swami… bus stop mein stop kiya.

S- …. Tch… Tch… Tch… Tch. When you were teaching….Koi girl se baat kiya?

P- No Swami. In 1973, in my first interview, Swami told me not to speak to them when no one is present.

S- School mein….party time…

P- nahi Swami…

S- who is your near friend?

P- Swami Aap…

S- ghar se letter aata hain?

P- Ghar se parents likhte hain.

S-Tumhara students…. koi bhi yaad nahi aatha?

P- No Swami….

S- kabhi kabhi?

P- No Swami…

S- Bad teacher!!….Voh lady ka naam kya hain?

P- Swami koi bhi ladies nahi jaantha hoon.

S-tumhara property hain…

P- No Swami

S- udhar Simla mein?

P- Ah yes Swami…ek building hain..(all laugh)

S- Kaun udar stay kartha hai?

P- Swami aapki seva chal rahi hai udhar

S- Nahi . Building kaun dekhta hai,?

P- Swami sevadal

S- Ladies??

P- Nahi….3 sevadal boys udhar rehethe hain.

S-kitna pension aata hain?

P- Swami 18000…

S- tum akela hain….kya kartha hain?

P- Swami organisation ko detha hoon…

S- Poor people ko dena achcha hain… Service ka time mein kitna aatha hain?

P- 40000 Swami…

S-40000! Puttaparthi mein kya kartha hain?

P- Swami I have the wonderful opportunity of serving you.

S- puttaparthi mein room nahi hain?

P- Haa Swami ….

S- Udhar kaun stay kartha hain?

P- Sirf mein aur Swami udhar hain…Snaan karne ke liye jaatha hoon. All the other time I am in mandir.

S- Khaane ke liye nahi jaata?

P- yes Swami

S- Kiska ghar jaata hain?

P- No Swami…Only in the canteen…

S- koi bhi nahi bulatha?

P- Swami mujhe koi nahi maloom.

S- kitna baje Uththa hain?

P- Swami I get up at 3:00am and come to mandir by 6:00am.

S- 3 hours kya kartha hain?

P- Swami I have bath and go for Ganesh Pradakshina.

S- Kidhar… ganesh?

P- Swami Ganesh gate ke paas.

S- Ganesh gate ke paas kisko meet kartha hain?

P- Swami? Ganeshji ko…

S- Talk kartha hain?

P- Yes Swami…Gam Ganapathaye Namaha….Vakratunda mahakaya…etc

S- Abhi holidays mein kya kiya…..Swami idhar hain?

P- Swami study aur type kartha hoon.

S- Kisise bhi meet nahi kiya?

P- No Swami…Bahar nahi gaya kabhi bhi…sirf dinner ke liye..

S- Bhajan ke liye?

P- Swami I sit inside itself and sing..

S- Dinner mein kya khata hain?

P- Ek chapathi..

S-( drawing circles of different radii in the air) …Itna…?itna….ya itna?

P- Swami ek bada chapatti.

S- Rice?

P- No Swami.

S- rice me starch hain. Sirf wheat nahi khana….rice bhi chahiye.

S- Is your mother happy that you are with me?

P- She is extremely happy Swami.

…..Swami then told all of us that This was the kind of disciplined life that He expected of us. Swami also said that Simla was a nice place and that the people over there tie cloths over their heads…. like this…(Swami demonstrated how they wear it by putting His handkerchief over His head much to the delight of all of us) to prevent the snow from falling on their heads.

Swami then received Aarthi and retired.

Sai Ram Ananta Vijaya,

Thank you very much for teh most delightful Nara Narayan interaction. It was a pleasure to feel Swami through this write up. I could see Swami putting handkerchief over his hair and mimicking and teasing others. Sai Krishna is back!!!!
