“The aspirant does not attain the knowledge of Brahman as long as he is conscious of his ego. The ego comes under one’s control after one has obtained the Knowledge of Brahman and seen God. Otherwise the ego cannot be controlled. It is difficult to catch one’s own shadow. But when the sun is overhead, the shadow is within a few inches of the body.”

Tirumantiram by Rishi Tirumular (verse 2043):

Give Up Nothing; But Sublimate Your Thought Towards God

There is nothing, you need give up;

The Five senses are organs false

That the five craving to meet arose;

Reach to Him in your thoughts

And praise Him in songs sweet.

Commentary: Renounce nothing, but sublimate your thoughts and senses towards God. Praise Him and adore Him in sweet music and ecstatic songs. He will direct your inner being to divine destiny.

Tirukural by Tiruvalluvar:

(127) Whatever you may fail to guard, guard well your tongue,for flawed speech unfailingly invokes anguish and affliction.

In Shiva Mahimna Stotram Pushpadanta, the writer and a Gandharva had cited

examples similar to this. These slokas are presently under translation and

would be available very soon in the group.

 

Shiva is described as Laya Moorty. He moves in cremation/burrial grounds and

has the company of demons. This is often misunderstood and misinterpretted.

Though he had the capacity to bless you all riches he shows the way by

leading a simple life and not diverting the mind from the target one

achieves ones goal. In stead people out of their ignorance interprets in

some other way.

 

One should believe the Lord in completeness and serve him with all faith. It

is up to one to impose conditions and rules while serving. These are ok as

long as they do not create obstructions and hurdles in worship. When he the

Lord is "Annadi" (Had no birth and death and exist before creation of any

universe) and is formless and has no manifestations. He is every where and

is in every thing. Where is the question hat one is taking any thin from the

temple? He is omniscent and omnipresent. Had no past present and future.

 

Please believe firmly and take the path which is comfortable to you and that

gives you happiness while chanting. Follow it steadily. there will be

diversions as the people who followed a different path may come with their

experiences and there is diversion and distraction at this stage.

 

So one should be watch full and shall not leave the path selected to follow

the other. If so one remains a beginner for ever.
