Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya!!! Your emails have been collecting like cherished recipes, pulled out to prepare for the feast of Amma's visit. The celebration of Mother's Day can last all month! You are warmly invited to pitch in for Pre-Tour Seva. If your sweet tooth isn't craving Snack Shop set up, there are about 108 other Pre-Tour projects to whisk up before Amma returns, check in with the Seva Coordinator right outside the little cottage. Pre-Tour Seva will happen on Saturdays and then Sundays before Amma's arrival on June 6th. That expression, "Too many cooks in the kitchen", doesn't apply here! Come out for a few hours or the full day experience. Pre-Tour Set-Up in the snack shop includes things like washing the bakery equipment, setting up tables and chairs, cleaning out the walk in, washing down the tent, decorating et cetera. If you are planning on going to the Asram weekly, the Pre-Tour Snack Shop Coordinator position is open. I have enjoyed this Seva in the past, but am working on Saturdays. Please let me know if you are interested. Unable to come out for Pre-Tour Prep? No worries, once Amma arrives, the Snack Shop operates around the clock serving her famous homemade chai. There are many shifts and roles available. For the tour, I am signing folks up for two types of shifts. Two-Hour Sevite Shifts (selling baked goods, re-stocking supplies, light clean-up) and Four-Hour Supervisor Shifts (overseeing the training of new Sevites, keeping an eye on the overall operation ~making sure the sweetness doesn't run low). Both roles are great fun. In addition to the shifts described above, we have the "Devi Bhava Cafe" which runs until Amma leaves. This job is great for folks who are night owls. If you are able to donate "Healthy Snacks"--nuts, emergen~c's, dried fruits, please bring them throughout the tour. We are unable to use homemade foods (cookies) that are not baked on the Asram grounds or in a professional bakery, but we can make use of canned jams et cetera. If you are interested in participating in Snack Shop Seva please contact me. I have a schedule available. For the more spontaneous types, you are welcome sign up directly at the Seva Desk in the hall Tuesday (June 6th). We truly appreciate all of you who return each season and hope that you will be back. New faces are warmly encouraged to dip in to a two-hour shift. We hope you will find it habit forming... I can be reached via email: omshivashakti108 For Amma's tour schedule: http://www.ammachi.org Ma bless! Rohini Messenger with Voice. PC-to-Phone calls for ridiculously low rates.
