Guest guest
I just received this letter from a client who had about a 2 year bout with throat cancer. He did not smoke and exercised and had a healthier than normal Western lifestyle. I talked to him earlier in his ordeal and as you can see from his letter, he did not follow my advice. He is predominately pitta dosha and his main problem right now is his digestion. I already adviced him to do a pitta pacifying diet with some exercises and digestion poses. Does anyone have any formulas they would recommend for his digestion and resulting heartburn, etc.? Also, recommendations for alternatives to radiation. I gave him some alternatives to surgery and radiation before he had surgery but as you can see he did not follow my advice on that either. The information I gave him earlier mainly consisted of diet and lifestyle changes. Since he is American, maybe he will be more apt to take a pill or an herbal formula someone here can recommend. GB Here is the letter: First of all, I really appreciated the information you had sent for my neck/cancer problems. Hence, since all of that, I went ahead with the final surgery (hopefully) and had the complete laryngectomee. The operation was tough but I am recovering OK. The doctor is pleased with the final margins. The tumor review board advises additional radiation though. I am NOT convinced that i will do more radiation and would like your advice about that as well as the following. One of the end results of the surgery was having a feeding tube into my stomach via down the esophagus. I don't know if it was the tube causing irritation but my stomach has been messed up since. It feels like the valve of the stomach will not let the food I have eaten in all at once, whereas if I bend over to pick something up, some of the food comes back up my esophagus and I spit it out. This may last up to one half hour after I have eaten. It's not very nice. Plus lot's of burping and a bloating feeling several after eating. I have since been taking an acidophilus complex - live cultures. Also I have taken my ENT's perscription of Nexium 40mgs twice a day. Nothing has improved though.
