Guest guest
A patient taking chemotherapy wants to take ayurvedic medicines often concurrently. Very few mainstream doctors would permit this combination. However, Indian doctors at AIIMS are exceptions. They are trying to use ayurvedic anti-oxidants to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy. INteresting are the results of an ayurvedic drug trial at AIIMS, New Delhi: http://www.secondopinionnewsletter.com/alert-detail.php? ha_id=i&PHPSESSID=secbfe65248b377649923f3ec124b22 [Copy and paste the link in browser window] The results show how powerfully chemotherapy posions overtake the ayurvedic anti-oxidants too! Have ayurvedic pharmacies also started waliking in the footsteps of Big Pharma, to create market potential?
Guest guest
Dear Dr Bhate, The common adage is "If you can't beat them, join them". When commercial interests come to the fore, the same mistakes are repeated ad infinitum. Today all systems of medication are being projected in the same manner. Very few wish to really know about disease and prevention. The common question is, "What do you have in ayurveda/homeopathy for this disease?". The pharmaceuticals too are presenting the formulations in the same manner, "Take this for that disorder". The patient uses accordingly and blames the system, "Ayurveda/homeopathy does not work". Another disturbing fact is that people have become accustomed to over the counter medications. Unless in an emergency people do not visit a doctor. Visits to the doctor are extremely important in case of holistic therapies as the factors to be considered are multiple and only a deep study of the patients appearance and symptoms can provide the answer. Not pathological tests but how the patient feels and expresses his dis-ease is the key to recovery. Unfortunately the current courses are also training the doctors in this manner. How many vaidyas today study the pulse and tongue of the patient? They have become experts in writing standard prescriptions. They also cannot be blamed, which patient is ready to prepare medicines as per the vaidyas advice? How many are interested to change their diet and lifestyle? How many have the patience to deserve a complete cure? Therefore the joy of healing a patient is today a rare commodity. As a result we see depressed and despondent doctors. It is no wonder they turn profit oriented as they do not get job satisfaction. Ayurveds and other holistic healers should start conducting camps to make people aware of the nuances of disease and healing. When I started openly writing about the mind-body connection of disease, many were opposed to it. They said, people today want to enjoy their lives, if you start writing about these things and about the need for physical and mental discipline then nobody will be interested in holistic healing. But I continued because I knew that people who have experienced the pain of diseases like cancer and acute depression will listen. Today we should not care about what the general population will think. We must think about those particular people who are suffering intensely and do our jobs honestly. Guest guest
Dear Jagannathji, Recently, I had the good fortune to give a free demo-cure-camp not only for back, etc pain but also other health complications at Dr. Leo Rebello's residence at Mumbai. It was unproved that the joy of healing a patient today is a rare commodity. Instead, every one was very much please, said so and confirmed in writing in the presence of every one else. Even a Parkinson's patient felt better and happy within moments. Hence your second contention about the mind and body connection was slightly upped up with a mind-body-soul connection to improve the patients' physical, mental and spiritual well-being instantaneously then and there. So what more a mere mortal human being would need than this highest yoga of health that may be called "Fusion Yoga" as explained on the home page of www.atbsnr.com Dr. Leo Rebello was a witness and we both are to join in broadcasting this fusion therapy for the good of humanity at large; Amen. S. M. Acharya <smacharya (AT) (DOT) co.uk> cc. Dr. Rebello for favour of personal info. --- jagchat01 <jagchat01 > wrote: Dear Dr Bhate, The common adage is "If you can't beat them, join them".
