Guest guest
Namah Shivayah, Can someone please tell me where I might find the lyrics to the Mahishasura Mardini Stotram as it is recited as part of the morning archana at Mother's ashram? Guest guest
The version in the bhajan supplement is a little different from the version that's in the Amritapuri archana books. I think maybe Premarupa had typed up and/or disseminated the version that's chanted at the ashram awhile ago? Guest guest
Actually I believe the one in the 2002 supplement is the current one that they changed to. There are a few versions. That is the same one Amma sang in New Mexico a few years ago that is sold on CD in the bookstore. - ammasiswari Ammachi Saturday, May 13, 2006 12:36 AM Re: MAHISHASURA MARDINI STOTRAM The version in the bhajan supplement is a little different from the version that's in the Amritapuri archana books. Guest guest
If the one she sang in New Mexico is the same one she sang at the subsequent retreat in Rhode Island, then it's slightly different from the one in the 2002 bhajan supplement. I know this because all of us there following the bhajan supplement got very confused about what we were supposed to be singing a few times! I'm not sure why they don't make the US archana book the same as the Amritapuri archana book. The Amritapuri book includes a number of things like the Mahisasuramardini stotram, which are not included in the US archana book and which I'm sure so many people in the US would like to have.... Guest guest
That was the one time since 1990 that I couldn't come to that retreat, so I can't say. - ammasiswari Ammachi Saturday, May 13, 2006 8:45 AM Re: MAHISHASURA MARDINI STOTRAM If the one she sang in New Mexico is the same one she sang at the subsequent retreat in Rhode Island, then it's slightly different from the one in the 2002 bhajan supplement.
