Guest guest
Om Namaha Shivaya, Beloved Premarupa, Political activity is activity in which the underlying motivation is one's own selfish agenda, and how one's own selfish desires will benefit by using the whole, or at the expense of the whole. When we truly give from the heart, from a deep desire to serve the needs of whole, rather than one's individual needs and desires, then there are no politics; there is only the language of the heart, and all righteous activity flows from that. We are one big, beloved family. When we work together and support & encourage each others attempts to bring light and love to the world by serving our Master in any way we can, and by seeing Her in all, then we are indeed Her arms & hands, Her legs and feet, Her cosmic heart, the breath of Her Prana. Then there is nothing but Her. All I am asking for is some support from my brothers and sisters in my feeble attempts to serve my mother in any way that I can. May my every moment be an offering to Her, and to all that is Her. As brothers and sisters, we must be each others support in our efforts to support our Beloved Mother's unparalleled acts of compassion and mercy. This is my intention, and my only motivation. I can not do it alone, and I am simply asking for the kindness of my siblings in getting the word out for me. Please forgive me if you feel that this is wrong or improper. Guest guest
Dear Sanatani, If you plan to do a mail-order business, it could be a good idea to take out an ad in the programs guide(s) that are distributed during Amma's visits. I know our deadline here in NY was last week (I don't know if there's any flexibility on that), but I'm not sure if other cities may still be accepting ads. If not, you could try it when Amma comes in November. This is a good way of spreading the word among the devotees that would help Amma, too. I think once you have a website to which you can direct people....that'll generate interest. It doesn't seem like there would be any problem with individual devotees spreading the word for you (and I would be happy to!), but to clarify any issues relating to MA Center or official satsangs promoting your efforts, it may be a good idea for you to speak with one of the lawyers at MA Center, just to get a fuller understanding of any legal considerations. Personally, I'm not so familiar with these issues, but I do know they've come up before. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, This was interesting. However, sometimes it is through politics that one is able to do those things most heartfelt. The consciousness of the people, determines the consciousness of society's leaders. And I am probably not clear stating my assertion on this, but trying to implement change to help all of society-which is often through policies and making policy changes-such as programs to feed the poor, health care, the elderly, etc. can hardly be construed as selfish. So I am not sure this very general statement is accurate on all accounts of what is possible by serving with your heart yet implementing politics and choosing leaders that are favorable to these positive societal changes. Politics and policies can play a role to better serve society. It is really cool to see the political leaders in Detroit who went to see Amma last fall..!
