Devi, Devatas and Bhagavan

Namaste, In our scriptures and texts like Ramayana and Mahabharata,

many devatas and devis are mentioned. Ganeshi-ji has an elephant face

and I think the Bhagavat Purana has something on moksha to an

elephant. Sun is treated like God in the scriptures and we also have

chandra devata and navagrahas. My own thinking is that all this is

expressing the upanishadic statements

 

"Sarvam khalvidam Brahma"

or

"All this is verily Brahman".

 

In other words, everything animate or inanimate (char-achar) is Atman

or Brahman. There is divinity in everything. I request the learned

members to please comment on this.
