In general the Snake or Naga can represent many things.......among them Lord

Siva is represented in illustrations as haveing snakes on his arms and

hair........the Kundalini that is at the first chakra area is represented as a

snake.......many more representations as you read the literature from

India........the gypsies around Mumai even have carved snakes glued on top of

the Holy Rudraksha Beads as the Naga represents a part of Saivism and the Beads

the Tears of Lord Shiva

Some Lingas are made with the Cobra Naga and some are not and is merely a matter

of choice as to which one a person would like to have at their place of worship
