Guest guest
Hi, This is not an answer, but a question. Does anyone know, when Rudraksa, page 50 says, that "A man wearing Rudraksas should neither drink wine nor eat, onion, garlic, meat, etc.," what words were left out by the "etc."? Does anyone know when the same book says that Rudraksa should be worn "in the ears," exactly what that means? Does it mean earrings, or to drape over the ears? I wear mine in hoop earrings, but the Rudraksa are not exactly "in the ears." There must be some pictures of swamis wearing them correctly. Guest guest
Namaskar and thank you for your message...........the quote mentioned comes from the RudrakshaJabalopanisad part 43............I dont have an english transliteration of this here however the mention of etc. in this context may mean anything that does not fall into the context of wearing Rudraksha Beads and the worship of Lord Siva In other Holy Books there are contradictions and agreements......in the SriMadDeviBhagavat is states if you wear Rudraksha on forehead and one drinks wine and does nefarious deeds they are not affected by the resulting sins........so this book might have been written at a different time or someone could have added this to the writting during the history of the book or it may be a statement made to tone down the requirements of wearing In the Siva Purana Vidyesvara Samhita part 43 it is stated in a similar manner as you have suggested........only with more specifics A devotee of Siva shall refrain from eating meat...... garlic...... onion...... red garlic......... potherb........... slesmataka.......... pig of rubbish and liquors Really have no idea why the mention of garlic and onion as they are both good for circultation and heart so your guess is as good as anyone........eating meat raises the acid level in the bodies and draws the physical body away from a balanced alkaline state and the issues on drinking liquor are well known and not conducive to meditation Regarding the translation of wearing in the neck or in the ear the meaning for the first basicly means wearing around the neck with Beads touching skin...............The Beads become incorporated into the Neurophysiology of the Body and action and reaction begin to take place regarding galvanic skin response and electormagnetic action..........wearing in the ears can be done in a couple of different ways The way the ear is made and the form of the Rudraksha makes the two easily adaptable to each other........... a specific size rudraksha can actually be placed in the outer each and it is held there by part of the ear........if you get the right size Rudraksha it will be pressured by the ear to stay in place and not fall out You can wear on a loop behind the ear lobe so it touches the head and the ear lobe...this can be done on a simple silver wire that is bent and draped over the ear......in this way the Holy Bead is almost hidden from view The loop behind the ear bead design is similar to the Parad Bead Loop that we have on our website to satisfy the need to wear parad on the head.........the simple silver loop goes over the ear wear the ear meets the head and the parad bead hangs out of site behind the ear itself and touches the head and the ear.......is the easiest way Rudra Center has found for those who need to wear parad on the head Then there are the earrings you have mentioned where sometimes the beads are in direct contact with the skin and also others that have posts so that the electormagnetic energy is transmitted through the posts and hoops to the body Have not seen any pictures of Swamis wearing in or on the ears as words in and on are sometimes interchangeable when transliterateing hope this helps Wishing you and Family the Best DharmaDev Arya In a message dated 1/27/2006 11:48:20 PM Pacific Standard Time, barbjs (AT) shaw (DOT) ca writes: Hi, This is not an answer, but a question.
