Guest guest
Namaste Shivaram, Sri DDji, Divakar, etc have responded to you exactly what I was gonna say. Agree with them. Although haven't come across any Sanskrit texts that mention about taking baths with rudraksha, I also haven't read anywhere about rudraksha bath taboos. (That is, unless I'm missing something which I clumsily do sometimes..) Any case, many people do it for purification and removing past karma. Its true that soap & chemicals can ruin rudraksha with the passage of time. But reetha (soapnut) which is organic/natural should be ok. But rule of thumb is to rinse all soap traces from rudraksha and let beads dry at room temperature. If you take shower or bath with rudraksha sometimes, be sure to let the beads dry completely, then apply oil thoroughly with toothbrush. Better still, soak dry beads in oil overnight and wear the next day. Pls remember that rudraksha have to be completely dry before oiling. This is so they will keep for many generations and not disintegrate easily. One of the previous article I read one shouldn't wear rudrksha because soap made of chemicals can do harm to rudraksha. I wear 5 mukhi and 6 mukhi mala which i purchased from www.rudraksha-ratna.com. I usually remove these malas before I wash my body with soap. But I still wear it other time. My worry here is do I need to dry rudrakha or is it not necessary. I usually dry them using my bath towell after bath. Please advice me. > > Thanks > > Shivaram > > > > > >
