Dear Friends

Mr Ravan has decided that he does not wish to discuss the Pearls he has shown

pictures of in his recent posting to the general group so for the betterment

of the groups knowledge I would like to refer you to Sri Richard Shaw Browns

new Book entitled AKASH 2006 for a more complet explanation

Described in his new book are authentic representations of

Oyster Pearl Chandra Mani

Snake Head Pearl Naga Mani

Boar Head Pearl Varaha Mani

Elephant Head Pearl Gaja Mani

Fish Head Pearl Matsya Mani

Bamboo Stem Pearl Venu mani

Cloud Pearl mega Mani

Conch Shell Pearl Shanka Mani

Tree Trunk Pearl Vriksha Mani

Stated in his new book on Page 55 is as follows

Cobra and other natural pearls and fossils are acquired mostly in the

Indonesian Malaysian Lands. They are uncovered in caves, jungles, sacred spots,

building sites etc. when the natives dig and find these fossilized remains of

snakes , ancient fish, animals, plants and sacred trees etc that contain these

PEARLS. They are usually tumbled to make them more attractive. The Asians have

been revering these OTHER PEARLS for thousands of years as we see in the ancient

Sanskrity classic Sri Garuda Puranam

On page 56 you will find a more complete explanation of the different PEARLS

mentioned that is stated as a summary translation of Sanskrit texts from Sri

Garuda Puranam Chapter 69 circa 2000 BC

This new book by Sri Richard is truly Immense and a must for the Library as

it includes a complete description and more on the Holy Rudraksha........most

impressive is the Holy Gauri Shankar Navratna Pendant for the Mother of the Hou

sehold.........His combination of Pearl and 13 faced Gauri Shankar is another

first to be seen pictured in a text and the Circle Tube Nava Ratna with Lines

shown on page 40 and 41 are truly a Visionary Work of Art combined with

Jyotish Values

As Sri Richard is a Respected Member of our group you can contact him

directly for your copy of his newest book AKASH 2006 if you wish to see an

extraordinary collection of new Jyotish Talismans

Wishing all the Best

Sriman DharmaDevji,

Thanks for the kind words. Concerning the pearls, I had a large amount of them

sent to

me for testing. I involved Kenneth Scarratt, head of Research at GIA in America,

and also

the University here, as also Gem Institute of Thailand.

Some item's were artificial glass (the transparent ones), some were known stone

materials,

and a few were unable to identify (and cannot disprove). The 6 that couldn't be

disproved

where the ones I got for our museum. They are nice to display. But because of

inability to

gain certification they cannot be sold by us. Even Natural Oyster Pearls we must

provide X-

ray certificate to prove. But the rare pearls are impossible to verify for

commercial

purposes. Anyone purchasing those types will have to depend on "blind faith"

which is not

very reliable in gemology. And the transparent ones are surely man-made glass. A

snake

pearl cannot possibly be glass; and none of the pearls can be clear, anymore

than petrified

wood can be clear. It's not possible.

Best regards,

Richard
