Guest guest
Sriman DharmaDevji, Thanks for the kind words. Concerning the pearls, I had a large amount of them sent to me for testing. I involved Kenneth Scarratt, head of Research at GIA in America, and also the University here, as also Gem Institute of Thailand. Some item's were artificial glass (the transparent ones), some were known stone materials, and a few were unable to identify (and cannot disprove). The 6 that couldn't be disproved where the ones I got for our museum. They are nice to display. But because of inability to gain certification they cannot be sold by us. Even Natural Oyster Pearls we must provide X- ray certificate to prove. But the rare pearls are impossible to verify for commercial purposes. Anyone purchasing those types will have to depend on "blind faith" which is not very reliable in gemology. And the transparent ones are surely man-made glass. A snake pearl cannot possibly be glass; and none of the pearls can be clear, anymore than petrified wood can be clear. It's not possible.
