Guest guest
Dear Kotak, According to Apte Sanskrit-Eng dictionary "valanam" means to SPIRAL, and "Puraa" means the OPPOSITE SIDE. Valampuri therefore literally, "the one that spirals the opposite way." Also "Dakshin" means right side, and "varti" means twisting, spinning - lit: Twisting to the right. BTW: If any one wants to see a picture of the Valampuri Dakshinavarti Shank we obtained just click http://www.agt-gems.com/Sri-Lakshmi-Shank-AGT.jpg Hope that helps... Sukriya!!!
