Valampuri Lakshmi Shank - MEANING

Dear Kotak,

 

According to Apte Sanskrit-Eng dictionary "valanam" means to SPIRAL,

and "Puraa" means the OPPOSITE SIDE. Valampuri therefore literally,

"the one that spirals the opposite way."

 

Also

 

"Dakshin" means right side, and "varti" means twisting, spinning - lit:

Twisting to the right.
