Guest guest
Dear friends, Today I finally got the near impossible!!! A lovely Valampuri Lakshmi Shank that is about 4.5 inches long and weighs 30 grams. It's the first real Lakshmi Conch that I have ever seen and touched directly, ---Ever since I'm using a 14 mukhi Rudraksha wonderful things are happening, such as getting a sinistral turbinella pyrum genuine fresh Lakshmi Shank after searching for 25 years. NOTE: The only hold up in using for my Shalagram Puja is a foul smell coming from inside. It's found in the South Indian ocean about 6 weeks ago. Do you have any ideas about how I can clean it out? It's very delicate. But there must be some standard way to clean out conch shells... Any ideas or guidance would be most appreciated. Sukriya!!! Guest guest
Dear Richard Ji The smell might be the remains of the animal that lived inside the shell so best would be to soak or submerge shell in warm salted water for a couple of days so that the insides will become wet again and finally wash out........change the water each day with new warm water and when you change the water take a few minutes to shake shell under warm water in sink..........then run stream of hot water from faucet into shell for a few minutes to see if the material will be released.......a week of this and the material that is giveing off the odor should most likely deteriorate to the point where it will wash out.........this is the safest way as some liquids will dissolve the shells calcium and ruin the shell......warm salt water is a safe way to go hope this helps Take Care DD In a message dated 8/18/2005 1:24:13 PM Pacific Standard Time, rsbj66 writes: > > > Dear friends, > > Today I finally got the near impossible!!!
