So dear friends... to cut it short... is there any right way to do shivling puja (I brought a parad shivling from neetaji) without the use of cow dung as it is a little hard to come by here in urban UK. Something less elabarate for the morining before i go to work. Thanks and regards M Vaghela PS Realllyyyy "annoyed/irritated" with losing all that I wrote, i has so many ques. Guest guest
Dear Simoneji, Namaste, Thanks for the info on Shivling puja; i also enquired about this. I'm from the UK and i brought a Parad Shivling from Neetaji. I read the section on how to do puja in the Parad shivling page. It mentions such items as cow dung or urine and you have mentioned ashes of funeral pire! These thing are pritty hard to come by un urban UK as well as to do every day. However, i have tried to get help and search for other ways. At the moment I get together, pure filtered water and a little mixture of milk, honey, brown sugar (in place of sugar cane juice) and a little ghee (which in semi solid in these cold UK climate and is a little hard to mix into the cold milk). I place the Shivling on a clean steel plate and pure some of the pure water over reciting "Om Namah Shiviy". Then i pure the milk (I think they call it some think beginning with CH...>>). I then used to pure over the remaining pure water to wash off the milk and them pure a little rose water over the shivling to finish off. I have a clean cloth for wiping dry the shivling only which i finally place on the Altar or Mandir with a Tulsi leaf and a washed white flower ready for pray. I then do one round of Japa of "Om Namah Shivay". I do this every day without fail before I go to work. Is there any thing else I SHOULD add here taking note that im a working man living in urban UK? Another question I have is about Japa mala. How many rounds should one do and, what is this about doing 1008 of Japa<<<??? Now is this 1008 rounds of a 108 bead japa of a total of 1008 beads of the japa; which works out as 9.3333... rounds of a 108 japa mala (it would bake sense to do 10 rounds of mala which add to 1080 beads). Am i somewhat confused here. I tried to do this 1008 bead japa and had to caculate a what number of bead on the 10th rounf of japa i had to stop. Can anyone correct me on this as i'm sure I'm doing this wrong?? Regards and Thanks Namashkaar M Vaghela
