Dear Members,

With the same Japa mala can we chant different Mantras.

For example i have a 27 numbered mala. Can i chant Om Namah Sivay on

one day. SOme other time or some other day can i chant Om Namah for 14

faced rudraksha or may be some times i may like to chant for 9 faced

rudraksha.

Regards,

Kishore.

Dear Kishore Ji

Namaskar and thank you for your message.........a good question

indeed.........Japa Malas that are small Indonesion Paunch Mukhi Beads are used

as counters

for most any Mantras after first honoring Lord Siva with Aum Namah

Shivaya.........any Mantra is extremely powerful..........however if you are

looking for

the effects of wearing a 14 Mukhi Nepal Rudraksa by chanting Om Namah on Jap

Mala then the effects will be minimal at the most in my opinion

only..........in the Holy Books it says wear with or without Mantra meaning the

Holy Bead is

what is reacting with the Jiva.........to make a more powerful Sadhana a

person would hold the 14 Mukhi and then chant the appropriate Mantra or wear the

14 Mukhi on the Ajna Chakra and chant the appropriate Mantra

For a more powerful experience and acceleration go into Meditation and then

to Samadhi and in this state chant the Mantra for the appropriate Bead at the

same time introduceing your intent and purpose.........chanting and thinking

while chanting.........some people say that a human cannot concentrate on more

than one thing at a time and this is not correct......a human can concentrate

on more than one thing at at time by acting in the present moment and at the

same time thinking in the future moment to make one example

If you are useing Nepal Beads from Himalayas for Japa Mala then in my opinion

only I would be useing a 5 Mukhi Guru Bead Jap Mala as Guru Bead covers

almost everything

If you wish to get really specific you would use Sphatic Crystal Mala for

Goddess Mantras and Lotus Seed Mala for Goddess MahaLakshmi Mantras, Red Coral

for Lord Ganesha Mantras, Tulsi Malas for Lord Visnu Mantras and Lord Ram

Mantras and Lord Krishna Worship, Navratna Mala for pacifying nine planets

hope this helps

Wishing you and Family the Best

Thanks and Take Care
