Dear Prasanna Ji

Namaskar and thank you for your message........is a common occurance for

poeple to fall asleep in mediatation and sometimes even dureing Japa.......the

Mantras lead the way to greater rest and in this fast paced world where people

push themselves to hard they sometimes fall asleep when the Mantras are

invoked........simply means you need the rest.....sounds like you might be

working to

hard and putting in to many hours as that is the most common reason meditators

fall asleep during meditation as far as I know

hope this helps

Wishing you and Family the Best

Namaste Prasanna,

Falling asleep can happen during sadhana much as respected DDji said.

It would seem that most people aren't naturally equipped with a strength of

conscious awareness to stay awake when the mind becomes still. The only time

they experience a stiller mind is usually in sleep. The habit then occurs that

when the mind becomes still awareness and consciousness is lost. This can also

happen when the mind becomes still during shaktipat. That is perhaps the last

place where you'd think a person would fall asleep, but it happens.

It is also worth nothing that as we progress inwards during sadhana there is a

phase of seductive sleep that often occurs. It seems to just take practice and

earnestness to get through this.

Wishing you and all in the group well,

Om Shanti

Neil

Namashkaar,

I enjoy japa mala. I do one 108 round of Shree Krsna Japa (Hare

Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama

Rama Hare Hare); and then one 108 round of Om Namah Shivai. Besides

a feeling of peace and well being, is there any other reasons or

benefits of japa?

Regards

Dear Friend

Namaskar and thanks for posting..........yes there are other benefits of

doing any Japa or Puja.........you are accelerateding your Dharma and burning

your

Karma and purifying your Jiva and the environment around you.......takeing

responsibility for your being born again into this world and respectfully

recognizeing the Power of Almighty God.........as you stated this creates peace

and

well being in the present moment...........and smoothes out the future moments

so they can be worked with in a more pacifying manner

Good message Thank You

Wishing you and Family the Best

Thanks and Take Care
