need help with translation of Sanskrit mantras for yantra puja....

Namaskar and thanks for message......only way I know to learn Devanagari

Alphabet pronounciation is to find book Healing Mantras by Thomas Ashley Farrand

on Amazon.com and learn what he is teaching by phonetics.......if you know

english then he uses this as a base to sound out the Devanagari

Alphabet..........If you find the American Sanskrit Institute and Vyaas Houston

on the internet

they have a self learning course with Tape to help you with pronounciation

............ Is a Happy New Learning Experience for you......or you could go to

www.HinduMandir.us and find a local Hindu Temple and a priest there will most

likely be happy to help you

learning about yantras and have purchased some through the Rudra Center in

It is perfetly fine to frame the Yantras and then do puja. The method for Yantra

Puja is as under:

Place all the Yantras together before your deity in your meditation room. Place

a kalash (brass or copper pot filled with sacred water) with a coconut and

different fruits, grains and betel leaves in front of each set of Yantras.

Anoint the Yantras with chandan (sandalwood) paste, sindoor (vermilion) and milk

mixed with floral-scented oil. Put a white flower on each Yantra, to worship it

individually as a deity in its own right. Sit on an aasan facing east with

Yantras in front of you. Place a spoonful of water on your head and repeat:

"Apavitrah Pavitro Va Sarva Vastan Gatopi Va Yah

Smaret Pundari Kaksham Sa Bahya Bhyantarah Shuchih"

(English Translation)

"May all things unholy become holy,

May all lower tendencies depart,

Just as soon as we transcend

May within and without be purified!"

Then say the following:

Om Sri Gurubhyo Namaha (I bow to guru)

Om Sri Ganeshaya Namaha (I bow to Ganesha)

Om Sri Kula Devatabhyo Namaha (I bow to the family deity)

Om Sri Ishta Devatabhyo Namaha (I bow to my personal deity)

Om Sri Mata Pitribhyam Namaha (I bow to my parents)

Sip water after each of the following mantras:

Om Sri Keshavaya Namaha

Om Sri Narayana Namaha

Om Sri Madhavaya Namaha

Pour one spoon of water on ground as you say:

Om Sri Govindaya Namaha

Repeat each Mantra below and touch the right eye, left eye and forehead before

proceeding to the next Mantra:

Om Apo Jyothi

Raso Amtritam

Brahma Bhu Bhuvaha Swarom

Perform 'Abhishek' (the ceremonial bath), worshipping Lord Ganesha. Ganesha

holds a unique position in the religious culture of India where there is no

parallel in any other religion. Any ceremony, ritual, puja or new undertaking

has to begin with invoking the power of Ganapati otherwise it is regarded as

futile. After completing the Ganesh puja, each God or Goddess of the respective

Yantra is worshipped. This is done with the recitation of a Mantra for that

particular Yantra. For example, for worshipping Sri Yantra, recite the Sri

Mantra. When worshipping the Gayatri Yantra, use the Gayatri Mantra.

Then chant the following Pranapratishtha Mantra while offering yellow rice to

each Yantra:

Om Um Kum Chum Dhum Tum pum yum sum soham (Shree : Insert Name Of The Yantra)

Pranaha Eha Gacha Eha Tishtha Sum Yum Pum Tum Tum Chum Kum Um Om

Om Um Kum Chum Dhum Tum pum yum sum soham (Shree : Insert Name Of The Yantra)

Prana Eha Susthisha Bhavatu Sum Yum Pum Tum Tum Chum Kum Um Om

Om Um Kum Chum Dhum Tum pum yum sum soham (Shree : Insert Name Of The Yantra)

Prana Manasyachakshu Jibhyam Ghrani Pani Pachusthan Daso Indriyani Susthisha

Bhavantu

Sum Yum Pum Tum Tum Chum Kum Um Om.

Offer flowers while reciting "Devaye Namah Avahanam Samarpayami"

Offer flowers for Assan while reciting "Devaye Namah Aasanam Samarpayami"

Offer water to wash the feet of Lord while saying "Devaye Paydam Samarpayami"

Offer the Bath to Deva while reciting "Devaye Snanam Samarpyami"

Offer Panch Amrit bath with the mantra "Devaye Panchaamrit Snanam Samarpyami"

For clothing upvastar and Yajyo Paveet, recite the mantras:

"Devaye Vastram Samarpyami",

"Devaye Upvastram Samarpyami","Devaye Yaghopavitam Samarpyami"

Apply Ghand or Scent while reciting "Devaye Gandham Samarpyami"

Offer unbroken rice while reciting "Devaye Akshtan Samarpyami"

Offer flowers and garlands with the words "Devaye Pushyani Samarpyami"

Light the dhoop (incense) and offer it with the Mantra "Devaye Dhoopam

Samarpyami"

Light the Deep (oil lamp) and offer with the Mantra "Devaye Deepam Samarpyami"

Offer fruits, coconut and lemon while reciting "Devaye Navdam falamcha

Samarpyami"

Offer Paan, Supari and Clove with the mantra "Devaye Tambulam Samarpyami"

Then offer Pradikshina with the Mantra "Devaye Pradkshinaya Samarpyami" and walk

around the Yantra three times while chanting:

"Yani Kan cha papani janmantarkirtani cha

Tani sarvani Nashyantu Pradakshin Pade Pade"

Offer flowers and Namaskar with folded hands. Chant a rosary or 108 times the

Beeja mantra of the Yantra. Beeja mantras of each yantra are specific to the

Yantra and the Deity which they represent. Then place each Yantra on a Yellow

Cloth facing North. Pray regularly with Kukum, unbroken rice, yellow flowers,

fruits, sweet offerings and Ghee lamp. Always keep yellow rice and yellow

mustard near the Yantras.

Recite Shanti Paath:

Pritivim Shantir Antariksham Shantir Dyau Shantir Apaha, Shantir Oshadayaha,

Shantihi

Vanaspatayaha, Shantir

Vishve Me Devaha, Shantihi Sarva Me Devaha, Shantir Brahma, Shantirapaha, Shanti

Sarvam,

Shantiredhi,

Santihi, Shantihi, Sarva Shanti, Sa Ma Shanti, Shantibhihi

Next make preparations for the Yagya (sacred fire ritual) to be performed. This

is the concluding part of the Yantra puja and goes on for over an hour.

Sandalwood, fragrant herbs and pure ghee are used as an offering to the 'Agni'

(sacred fire), with the recitation of Mantras. Energized Yantras are thus

empowered to support and facilitate the purpose for which they are intended to

be used.

Positioning of Yantra in Meditation Room

It is generally recommended that a Yantra be placed in the north/north-west

direction facing the south/south-east direction in a room. The Sri Yantra is

supposed to be placed in the east, facing west. Ganesha Yantra should always be

placed at the extreme right side of any group of Yantras.

Dear Neeta:

I have purchased some very auspicious yantras to accompnay my devotion and

practice. can you recomend to me the ebst way to place the yantras in my

meditation room.I am assuming that the yantras should not be enclosed for

example in a frame so taht you can put frangrance and to place sometimes in

water. Can you please help me for I am unexperienced using the yantra.

I am sure u must know the meaning of Aum - Now question comes what is the

meaning of Tat Sat in Gujarati language we say" that is the truth " or that it

is -i.e. hence Aum is the ultimate truth is the real meaning of whole mantra.

Reason Aum is the connection to ( Agna) 6th Energy centre of the body -

by chanting this mantra I do not know how many times, but person do get the

feeling, when he is lifted Aham Brahama Asmi.

I am that and that is me in another word , I am the Universe and universe is

me.
