Dear Respected Richard Ji

MahaDev Mitra..........is a good question.........Malas and Kanthas are

handed down from generation to generation in some families.......all the good is

collected in the Mala or Kantha with each generation.........with each

ceremony......with each Puja.......so the answer for this is wearing the same

beads

from ancestors in same family is Highly Auspicious as the Malas are Highly

Charged from Generation to Generation

Now if you have been given a bead that has been worn by a Holy Man or other

criteria that make the bead a holder of good energies then have bead Blessed in

your name and is perfect as you have givers Blessings

Other than that it is good to use a fresh bead from latest harvest for

personal use as the Bead will start adhering to and balanceing with the energies

of

the new person as the person goes through the first 40 days of wearing

If a mala is given to you by another person then is best to have the beads

cleaned and re energized and Blessed in Temple in new wearers name so that you

can clear the Beads of the other person.........however am fairly certain is

really not a good idea to wear another persons Mala from another

family.........due to the possibility of residual Dharma and Karma being

transferred and the

Beads haveing to get used to new neurophysiology

Hope this helps Mitra

Thanks and Take Care

Dear DharmaDevji,

I have a question in my mind for many years, and I bet you're the

person who can answer.

Q: What is the functional difference between USED Rudraksha and NEW,

never used before Rudraksha?

I would guess that if a used Rudraksha came from a Sadhu it would be

good, but what about normal people used beads? Is it better to use a

FRESH bead?

Thanks in advance meri bundhuji

W/r,

Richard

Dear Friend

no problem........anytime I can help..........hope the water crisis in your

country will abate soon however the glaciers in the Himalayas are shrinking and

the hydroelectric programs we talked about earlier are going to be crucial to

the geographical population shift that will take place in South East Asia in

the next 5 to 10 years......the scientists with the global warming watch

programs say there will be flooding first and then drought as the Himalayan

Glaciers dry up and recede.........hopeing the people in government in that

region

will recognize the future water problems.....as water is the basis of life and

food and regeneration
