How to RIGHT a WRONG !??

Dear devotees,

 

Many people are selling the WHELK shell wrongly as a CONCH shell. The

main thing with the Valampuri or Sri Lakshmi Shank is that it is a

“Shank” (Conch shell). I have seen a few and had the chance to get for

my puja, but the cheapest price I ever saw for a small Valampuri Shank

was $16,000.

 

To see an actual, real “Lakshmi Conch”, next to a cheap, common

“Lightning Whelk” shell please see http://www.p-g-a.org/conch-artl.html

completely different. The Lightning Whelk is very cheap because it is a

non-sacred common shell and is NOT a CONCH. And only a Shank (conch)

can be a Shank. The right side opening Conch which is sacred and

valuable is the ONLY Valampuri Conch, and no one should be calling the

Lightning Whelk shell as a “Lakshmi Conch.” Other wise it’s like we

sell a red garnet and call it a RUBY. This is a serious mistake I see

on most Hindu sites and it is embarrassing and incorrect. The Real and

ONLY Lakshmi Conch is known as “sinistral turbinella pyrum conch“ But

the shells selling on so many web sites are really “Lightning Whelk”

and they are no more a conch than a red garnet is a ruby. If we sell

white zircon (even cheap) as diamond that is against the law. So also

with selling Lightning Whelk as a Valampuri Shank (Conch). Just ask any

Shell dealer... It is against the law and is fraud.

 

I think we should take this seriously, otherwise it makes a mockery of

reality and Hindu Dharma. (All these poor people with their $3 “Lakshmi

Shank”!!?...it is almost funny).

 

How can you help get this message across to the market and people?

Otherwise it is mass illusion!!!
