Combination mala - threaded knots or silver capped?

Hello,

 

I'd like to purchase a combination mala, from Rudraksha Ratna, made up

of the following mukhis:

 

2x 4 mukhi

2x 6 mukhi

2x 7 mukhi

2x 8 mukhi

1x 12 mukhi

 

Is this a good combination? What is the best order to string these in?

Is it better to string them with knots in between threads or with 2

silver cappings on each bead?

 

Is the mala (with knots between beads) drilled to allow the thread to

pass through?
