Guest guest
Namaste Vandana, Thanks for responding to Cyra about 9, 11 & 12 mukhis with full info, much appreciate your kind assistance. Can do with more wonderful folks like you, bless your dear heart ) Though I can't take a pic of the mat, the diagram is as follows, using strands of 108+1 beads from Japa Malas: VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV -- This part is all tassles 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 \ 0000000000000000 Length composes 108 beads 0000000000000000 / 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ ------ all tassles Then put soft padding like duck down, feather or cotton filling. Then make a cotton or linen cover to keep the entire mat/mattress inside. Very comfortable, keeps us warm in winter too, good for those suffering aches, pains, rheumatoid arthritis, lumbago, sprains, muscle spasms, etc. etc. From personal experience, this is one for of Excellent Rudraksha Therapy I made and tested the above mat/mattress for my own injuries over a period of time. Got to say it takes a long time to make and a lot of patience......!! I can't remember how many thousands of rudraskha beads from Japa Malas that were used for making the mattress but it was a lot.. No, the mats and mattresses are not yet on Rudra Centre website - its something new. I hope it will be introduced in the near future as the benefits of laying on a rudraksha mattress when unwell, is amazingly helpful for painful physical parts, mentally soothing and once a person gets used to if after a few days, the mattress actually feels very comfortable and comforting. The beads also help massage injuries and due to electromagnetic properties, assists in speeding up recovery. At least this is what I discovered. Last Aussie winter, I used it as mattress instead of using electric blanket. The rudraksha mattress keeps the body warmth in. When used as a blanket, the same results - it kept me warm. The mat for sitting on during meditation, is also great. It would take some people a bit of time to get used to sitting on a rudraksha mat when doing asanas. As I'd done it over a lengthy period of time, its most comfortable and just perfect for my needs. It differs from individual to individual of course. As usual, I cannot speak for others, other than from my own experiences and continuous study, research and use of rudraksha. I'm not sure if Rudra Centre's artisans would custom-make the mats and mattresses. If anyone wishes to have one, please enquire with Ms. Neetaji directly. Guest guest
Dear all, I am of the opinion that it is not fair to use Rudraksha mat or mattress or blanket for sleeping or sitting purpose since we respect rudraksha bead like Lord Shiva himself. We also set rudraksha in our holy altar for worshipping purpose. Please do not insult our holy feelings and rudraksha especially. Guest guest
Dear Simoneji: Your rudraksha mattress is extraordinary. I am particularily interested in introducing rudraksha to the alternative healing community in the United States. Has your mattress been used on a massage table by body workers ??? I know Lord Shiva is sending you Light for this remarkable idea :-) If rudraksha are the tears of Shiva and given to mankind out of the Lord's Grace, it would seem to me that they should be used for the welfare of mankind to heal the pains of the body. All is based on motive. If one's motive is of love and to serve, how can the rudraksha be abused when used in this way ??? Guest guest
Dear Kariji: Yes, I am aware of the healing salons. They seem to be quite popular in New York. perhaps they should put one in Empire State Building. LOL The day spas there now have Reiki, so maybe soon there will be rudraksha facials ? :-) Seriously I do believe that there is a special quality to this application of hanging many rudrakshas from walls..also in combination with crystals and yantra. Have not heard any feedback about the nature of the healing that takes place in such rooms, put am certain it would have an over all balancing effect. If I am not mistaken, is there not a rudraksha temple in India where the walls are covered with Holy rudraksha ??? Thank you. Guest guest
Dear fellow seekeers, may I respectfully offer my opinion? I think if the beads are used for the right puposes it is fine, mat or whatever. I am of the opinion that Shiva loves the aspirant more then the beads, would the almighty Shiva refuse to help his beloved if they were in need? If we study the scriptures about exalted beings we can see many acts of mercy and kindness. If someone is ill, why should they not use the beads as a mat? The beads are a vehicle for realisation, they are not the realisation itself, nothing wrong with respecting them, but if it ties down your conciousness, and you fail to see the supreme oneness of all things, then we have failed to realise their true purpose..... This situatrion kind of reminds me of the story of Dhanna. who saw god incarnate many times and was able to converse with him. One day has asked the lord, is there anyone who loves you more than me? The lord replied there are many who love me more. But be warned if you ask theis question both of us will cease to exist. The lord instructed him to go to a place where he would find such a soul. Dhanna went to the place as instructed, but turned away in dismay, when he saw the Sadhu standing with one fut on a stone, and in deep samadhi. Dhanna had used a similar stone as his Guru, and was saddened to see a person with his foot on his 'Guru'. Dhanna replied to the lord, but he is standing upon my Guru how can he be a lover of the Lord? The Lord told Dhanna to go back to the same place and the Sadhu would enable Dhann to see the Lord in all things. He went back and inquired as to why the Sadhu had his foot on the stone. The Sadhu replied 'Dhanna, I behold the lord in all things, the i-am ness within me has vanished, there is no-one else but the Lord left, so who has his foot on who?" This enabled Dhanna to be fully realised and God incarnate himself. I don't think everyone can be like Dhanna, but this is really the goal of life, I hope I haven't appeared brash or rude in my opinion........ Guest guest
Thanks Rajinder ---It was good. Maybe mats would be good for massage or something but not for sex or wiping the feet or such. Peole could use the mats for placing under their other holy ojects or draping for doorways into their temple rooms or other such things. I don't suppose such things would necessarily come into consideration for a Nath.
Guest guest
I am sorry I have missed all of this very interesting debate. I do not believe that anyone can win one way or the other through this kind of debate. We just have to accept the multi-coloured fabric of society and move on. All of our beliefs and scriptures are borne out of the human psyche. If there were only one true way, the good Lord could so easily have built that into our genes just as he built instinct to kill in tigers and instinct to run in the gazelle. The reason we have evolved beyond the meagre means of existence is because the same Lord (call him with whatever name you like) has granted us the the foresight and conscience. Yet the reason we humans have such diverseness and colour is because all of this enables us curious minds to continuously explore new ways/possibilities. Please do not criticise or condone one way above the other. If someone feels that they should not make a mattress out of the holy rudraksha, then they can simply choose to delete those messages. However if use of the Holy rudraksha gives a soul some peace of mind in lying upon it or covering oneself, then where is the harm in it? There are many, many diverse rituals even within the sanatan Hindu philosophy that essentially results to the same consequences. I would urge that we move on from this and for those who believe they benefit can choose to follow Simoneji and try to build a mattress for themselves and others who feel that their true use of the holy rudrksha is only to pray to it by placing on the holy altar can choose to do just that. Kind regards Anand [] On Behalf Of Llundrub 19 April 2005 23:13 Re: RBSC : To Vandana/ Rudraksha Mat & Mattress He went back and inquired as to why the Sadhu had his foot on the stone.
