Namaste Badal,

Very nicely put there, thank you sincerely; the word "withdraw"

reminds me of Mouna practice.... The word "limbs" reminds of the

Eight Limbs of Yoga :)) Four limbs and head of the tortoise who

carries the world on its back reminds of the Five Elements: Earth,

Air, Water, Fire, Ether.... Also reminds of the parad tortoise Shree

Yantra..

Especially like the part where you mentioned that tortoises hatch

their eggs by using energy from their eyes. This is good food for

thought!! Been a long time since I had any exercise with thoughts as

I'd had "no thoughts" for quite some time, till today that is.

To Everyone

-----------

The tail which is the 6th "limb" (so to speak), what would it remind

us of, I am wondering here and trying to recall....... My memory has

been very bad for few months..

All input welcome :)) Thanks in advance.

Om Namah Shivaya

Wishing you Many blessings

Simone

Dear Friends,

The Tortoise is also one of the incarnations of Sri Hari Vishnu (Kurma). In the

Ramayana, Ram worships Shiva before building the bridge to Lanka, among other

times, and Shiva tells Parvati that he worships Ram. Shiva also goes disguised

as a Brahmin to see the infant Krishna. So I also see the Tortoise at the Shiva

temples as a link between Shiva and Vishnu.

OM NAMAHA SHIVAYA

Namaste Simone-ji,

Regarding the tortoise's tail...This is a personal interpretation and

not based completely on scriptures...

To me the first thought that came up was 'backlog'... issues from

past, past lives which we carry forward to this life time and need to

resolve them now.

Also good qualities developed in the past/past life which can be used

now to spring forth, higher and forward.

A sea creature uses its tail to steer itself. similarly the energy of

the wisdom developed in the past can help us steer ourselves in the

present, helping us decide where and how we wish to move.

The tail also represents lower nature, base instincts, sexual issues,

survival issues, security...all 'Base Chakra' isssues.

A strong 'Base Chakra' provides a good foundation to move higher and

beyond.

Withdrawal of tail in the shell could symbolize exercizing

one's 'Will' to control one's lower nature and using one's energy for

higher Spiritual pourpose.

How does this feel?
