I am using Lahiri ayanamsa:

 

1) In your chart - diamond for Venus. Shukra is exalted in the 10th

house (fame-success) and owns the 5th house (children) and the 12th

(loss) and Venus is your benefic: so + + + - +

 

2) In your chart - emerald for Mercury. Budh is weak (enemy sign), is

benefic, located in 11th house (gain), lord of the 1st house (lagna

pati) and 4th house (happiness): so - + + + + <---Lagna LORD

 

3) In your chart - blue sapphire for Saturn. Shani is debilitated (0%

strength) in the 11th house (gain), lord of the 8th house (death) and

9th house (good fortune) and Shani is a benefic: so - + - + +

 

All three of these planets are benefics for you. But Saturn has the

most minuses.

 

Venus is your benefic, but he rules the 12 house of loss.

 

Between Venus and Mercury, Mercury is all good (lord of good houses, in

good house, benefic, only weak) ... Mercury is your LAGNA LORD, with

all plus points, except weakness... It is always BEST to use or

strengthen the Lagna Pati... so in your case EMERALD or green

tourmaline is the best for you to use.

 

For quite a while (since 1985) you have been under Rahu dasha. In 2003

you changed to Jupiter. Your Jupiter is in the 6th house and is a

malefic for you.

 

You can't do BETTER than your karma, so under Rahu period it was like a

Saturn influence. But in your new Jupiter dasha it is stronger and

better, but will be mixed with 6th house results (debts and enemies),

so don't be surprised by that.

 

Your life should be better with this new Jupiter period that will last

until 2019. Rahu period is never good unless Rahu is in Taurus and in

the 10th or 11th houses. For you Rahu is an 8th house influence

(worst). And in your case Rahu acts like Shani. So just by seeing the

results of your last Rahu period (1985-2003) you can understand what

will be the blue sapphire influence on you... not very good (as you

have complained).

 

Please try and use your lagna-pati-ratna - green tourmaline or Emerald,

but make sure the gem is flawless, otherwise NO gem is better than a

bad (flawed) gem.

NOTE: Anukul means a "favorable" planet, that might be strong or weak

and could be strengthened.

 

Pratikul means "unfavorable" planet, that might be strong or weak, and

should never be made stronger. So strength & weakness is not the same

as favorable or unfavorable. If your Mercury is ALL FAVORABLE but just

weak, then that is a weak ANUKUL graha, and good to strengthen.
